Russian Nuclear Doctrine Triggered

Ukraine’s drone strike reportedly targeted a Russian nuclear-capable bomber base — technically activating Russia’s nuclear doctrine.
Putin hasn’t launched nukes…

He hasn’t even turned off Ukraine’s power grid…

But the targeting of Russia’s strategic deterrent is a clear red line.

This isn’t theory anymore.
It’s doctrine.

⭕️ ISIS claims first attack on Syria’s new government forces since the fall of Bashar al-Assad

The US-backed Islamic State (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for its first attack against the new Syrian government forces, according to a statement published by SITE Intelligence Group on Thursday.

The group says it detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) planted earlier on a Syrian military vehicle in Sweida, killing one and injuring three soldiers from the 70th Division. While ISIS activity has persisted in northeastern Syria, attacks on the newly installed government in Damascus have been rare since it took power in December 2024.

⭕️ Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan calls for establishment of Zangezur Corridor to connect Turkiye to the 'broader Turkic world'

Speaking from Azerbaijan, Erdogan expressed support for the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and emphasized the importance of establishing the Zangezur Corridor — a transport route intended to connect Azerbaijan to Nakhchivan through Armenia’s Syunik Province.

He dismissed concerns about Iran obstructing the corridor, highlighting that the project is not only a link between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan, but also a strategic route connecting Turkiye to the broader Turkic world.

Erdogan called on Iran to support the initiative, framing it as a mutually beneficial opportunity for regional peace, development, and cooperation.

❗️Somaliland says US recognition 'is on the horizon'

"We are a partner in security ... a partner in counter-terrorism ... a partner in safe marine routes for world trade."

Somaliland's new president Abdirahman Mohammad Abdullahi says that it is “likely” that the country will be recognized, as US president Donald Trump could be the first leader to recognise Somaliland in return for building a military base near the port of Berbera, a strategic location on the Gulf of Aden.

Project 2025, a Trump administration initiative, proposes the recognition of Somaliland as a “hedge against the US’s deteriorating position in Djibouti."

“Recognition is on the horizon,” said Abdullahi.

“It’s a matter of time. Not if, but when and who will lead the recognition of Somaliland,” he added.

Abdullahi also said that US military officials, including the Horn of Africa’s most senior officer, have recently visited the capital Hargeisa. Another Washington delegation is expected to “evaluate the asset (Berbera).”

Former Biden Official Matthew Miller Israel Has 'Without Doubt' Committed War Crimes In Gaza

In a wide-ranging interview for Sky News' Trump 100 podcast, Matthew Miller also said if he was "outside of government" he would have preferred a "better candidate" for the 2024 presidential election than Mr Biden.

A senior official in former president Joe Biden's administration has told Sky News that he has no doubt that Israel has committed war crimes in Gaza.

Speaking to the Trump 100 podcast, Matthew Miller, who, as a state department spokesman, was the voice and face of the US government's foreign policy under Mr Biden, revealed disagreements, tensions and challenges within the former administration.

In the wide-ranging conversation, he said:

• It was "without a doubt true that Israel has committed war crimes";
• That Israeli soldiers were not being "held accountable";
• That there were "disagreements all along the way" about how to handle policy;
• And that he "would have wanted to have a better candidate" than Mr Biden for the 2024 election.

Mr Miller served as the state department spokesman from 2023 until the end of Mr Biden's presidential term. From the podium, his job was to explain and defend foreign policy decisions - from Ukraine to Gaza.

"Look, one of the things about being a spokesperson is you're not a spokesperson for yourself. You are a spokesperson for the president, the administration, and you espouse the positions of the administration. And when you're not in the administration, you can just give your own opinions."

Now out of office, he offered a candid reflection of a hugely challenging period in foreign policy and US politics.
