Chaos In South Gaza As Us-Israeli Aid Mechanism Falls Apart Hours After Launch

US mercenaries fled GHF distribution centers after Israeli forces opened fire on thousands of starving Palestinians who stormed the sites in an attempt to secure food

Chaos broke out near aid distribution centers in south Gaza on 27 May, hours after the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) announced the start of its operations.

According to local reports, US mercenaries hired to manage the distribution sites abandoned their posts shortly after the Israeli military started firing on starving Palestinians who desperately crowded around the sites.

Distressing scenes.

The GHF American-Israeli mercenaries lost control over one of the small aid distribution centres, with hundreds of Palestinians falling into chaos.

A helicopter reportedly took off and opened fire on the crowd.

“Thousands of starving civilians, who have been besieged and denied food and medicine for nearly 90 days, rushed toward those zones in a tragic and painful scene that ended with the storming of distribution centers and the seizing of food under the pressure of deadly hunger,” a statement by the Gaza Government Media Office reads.

Palestinian officials condemned the scenes, calling it “definitive proof of the occupation’s failure in managing the humanitarian crisis it deliberately created.”

5/24 — Israel Backed Gangs Operating Inside Gaza and the Red Cross is Cooperating With Them.

Israel is arming and protecting criminal gangs and drug dealers, including warlord Yasser Abu Shabab, who now operates openly in Rafah under the name of a “Counter-Terrorism Unit.” Dressed in new military gear and manning checkpoints under IDF protection, Abu Shabab and his gang have looted humanitarian aid—often just meters from Israeli forces, who even fire on local police trying to stop them.

Despite Israel declaring Rafah an “extermination zone” where any Gazan who enters is killed on sight, Abu Shabab roams freely, showing off weapons and gear supplied by Israel.

Disturbingly, the Red Cross is cooperating with his group, further legitimizing this gang.

These armed gangs are used by Israel and have been used for the past months to create chaos and worsen humanitarian conditions. When these gangs attack charity kitchens or aid storage facilities anyone who tries to confront or stop them gets targeted and bombed by Israel.

These are the same gangs that Al-Qassam’s Arrow Unit has been confronting and trying to eliminate.

Private military contracting firm advertises for hires with experience in 'Middle East field work', video technology and Arabic language skills

The US private military contracting firm set to oversee Gaza aid distribution on Israel's behalf is actively hiring for positions on LinkedIn , according to job postings shared with Middle East Eye by current and former US officials.

The firm, Safe Reach Solutions, or SRS, says it is actively looking for “Humanitarian Liaison Officers” who will “serve as vital connectors between our operational teams and the broader humanitarian community,” according to one job description.

Another position on offer a week ago but has since closed is for a “Team Deputy/Manager” to support “day-to-day management, planning, and mission execution”.

A liaison officer position appears to be analytically focused. It says that hires will “advise on best practices for engaging with affected populations, local authorities, and community-based organizations” while monitoring developments that could impact “operational posture”.

The team deputy position is geared towards recruits with a background in operations. One of the requirements is “field experience in the Middle East, especially in conflict-affected or post-crisis settings”.

..The positions want applicants with at least seven years of experience. They require applicants to be US citizens and say fluency in Arabic is preferred.

Ironically, SRS is seeking people with UN experience, but the plan to take over aid distribution seeks to supplant the United Nations, which is already capable of delivering aid in Gaza.

"These mid- to senior-career professionals will help bridge communication, coordination, and trust with NGOs, international agencies, and UN bodies operating in complex environments."

GHF Says Operating 'Without Incident' In South Gaza As Israeli Army Guns Down Aid Seekers

UN officials lambasted the 'symbolic and superficial' US-Israeli aid mechanism for failing to deliver sufficient aid to starving Palestinians

The controversial US and Israeli-led Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) said on 28 May that it was continuing operations “without incident.”

The statement came amid continued violence against starving Palestinians by Israeli forces, one day after chaos broke out in the southern strip due to the mechanism’s failure to properly deliver aid to starving Palestinians.

The foundation stated it is “continuing its operations today, opening another Safe Distribution Site and distributing aid without incident.”

“The situation remains urgent. But every hour, more people are fed,” the statement added.

GHF said two distribution centers were now up and running and that it delivered “all available aid without incident – approximately eight trucks worth” on Wednesday.

Earlier on Wednesday, it was reported that distribution had been temporarily halted, and that efforts were underway to resume operations.

Two more distribution centers are set to be opened. GHF said it has distributed “approximately 14,550 food boxes,” equaling 840,262 meals across the two open distribution sites. It added that each box feeds an average of “5.5 people for 3.5 days.”

“Operations will continue scaling across all four sites, with plans to build additional sites across Gaza in the weeks ahead.”

While the US State Department announced that 8,000 food boxes, equal to 462,000 meals, were distributed on Tuesday through GHF, Gaza humanitarian coordinator Eyad Amawi told DropSiteNews that only 7 trucks arrived – barely enough for a single camp.

“Eight thousand food boxes would require more than 7 trucks to deliver,” he said.

Amawi called the effort “symbolic and superficial,” adding that Gaza needs at least 600 aid trucks daily to meet the needs of over 2 million people.

The Euro-Mediterranean Monitor for Human Rights said six people were killed on Wednesday while attempting to receive aid in the southern city of Rafah, contradicting the GHF statement. The monitor also said one person was killed during the chaos on Tuesday, adding that seven other Palestinians remain missing.

“Israeli forces directed citizens to receive aid without proper guidance in dangerous areas and then targeted them with bullets and shells. Targeting starving civilians is a double crime that embodies the use of aid as a weapon of humiliation, subjugation, destruction, and murder,” it said.

At least 47 Palestinians have been injured in the violence.

Hours after GHF launched operations on 27 May and following days of delays and concerns about the feasibility of the plan, chaos erupted in south Gaza.

British NGO Behind 'makeover' Of Al-Qaeda Leader Turned Syrian President

Former US ambassador to Syria Robert Ford publicly stated earlier this month that he was invited by a British NGO to help bring Ahmad al-Sharaa ‘out of terrorism and into politics’

A British NGO with ties to the UK government was behind the rebranding and political training of Ahmad al-Sharaa, the former Al-Qaeda chief known previously as Abu Mohammad al-Julani, according to a report by Independent Arabia and recent comments by a former US diplomat.

Former US ambassador to Syria Robert Ford said earlier this month while speaking at the Baltimore Council on Foreign Affairs that two years ago, he was invited by a British organization that specializes in “conflict resolution” to take part in a plan aimed at “bringing Sharaa, known as Julani at the time, out of the world of terrorism and into regular politics.”......

...the British organization referred to by Ford is a London-based NGO called Inter Mediate....

It was founded in 2011 by Johnathan Powell, who was previously chief of staff to former UK prime minister Tony Blair.

Powell stepped down from the role last year after being appointed National Security Advisor by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer....

The report comes as many have been dumbfounded by Sharaa’s warm reception in Paris and during a recent Saudi-hosted meeting with US President Donald Trump, particularly given his extremist past.

Sharaa joined Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) following the 2003 US invasion of the country. He ended up serving as the deputy to ISIS chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi...

He was dispatched by Baghdadi in 2011 to enter the war against Assad’s government in Syria, where he took part in the launching of deadly suicide attacks against both security personnel and civilians before founding the Nusra Front in 2012. Following several Qatari-sponsored rebranding campaigns, the Nusra Front eventually became HTS in 2017.
