❗️Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, US President Donald Trump was questioned about whether humanitarian aid access to Gaza had been discussed during his recent phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.

"Gaza came up and I said, 'We've got to be good to Gaza ... Those people are suffering,'" Trump said.

When asked if he specifically brought up the issue of opening access points for aid into Gaza, Trump answered, "We are."

"We're going to take care of that. There's a very big need for medicine, food and medicine, and we're taking care of it," he said.

Pressed on how Netanyahu reacted, Trump responded: "Felt well about it."

No aid has reached the Palestinian enclave since 2 March. Israel said that it will not permit the entry of goods and supplies into Gaza until Hamas releases all the remaining captives.

On Friday, the UN World Food Programme announced it had exhausted all of its food stocks in Gaza.

Alawite Civilians Targeted In Killing Sprees Across Central Syria

Nearly a dozen Alawite civilians have been found tortured to death in prison or executed in recent days in Homs governorate

Homs Governorate in Syria is experiencing a surge in sectarian murders and deaths from torture of prisoners, according to reports from Syrian rights groups.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported several cases of Alawites murdered in Homs in recent days.

Shortly after midnight on 25 April, unidentified gunmen stormed a house on Al-Zeir Street in the Karm al-Zeitoun neighborhood of Homs, killing an Alawite man, Alaa Nasr, and his brother, Hussein Nasr, before dumping their bodies in the street.

On 24 April, the body of a civilian from the village of Habran in Suwayda Governorate was found inside an abandoned house near the Dabaa military airport in the Homs countryside.. The body of another unidentified person was found next to him.

A university student, Mohammad Saeed al-Waari, was also killed hours after his arrest today when a General Security patrol raided his home in the Karm al-Loz neighborhood...

The Syrian Coast Monitor stated that in another incident, an armed group affiliated with the HTS-led General Security stormed the Alawite-majority neighborhood of Ash al-Warwar in Damascus on the evening of 25 April. They entered the area's new local council and executed the young men gathered inside, resulting in the deaths of four Alawite men..

In another case, Mahmoud Hamed Deeb, an engineer and university professor, was shot and killed by members of the General Security in the town of Kafraya, south of Homs... Deeb was a faculty member at the University of Homs's College of Science and had an Alawite background.

SOHR reported further that three young men from the western Homs countryside were found tortured to death on 24 April in Damascus government prisons..

Israel Extends Compulsory Service As Manpower Crisis Plagues Army

Tel Aviv has plans to expand its offensive across the Gaza Strip, but is facing a shortage of 10,000 soldiers

The Israeli army has announced that it will extend mandatory service by four months due to a growing manpower crisis, coinciding with an intensification of battles in Gaza and the resurgence of deadly resistance operations against invading troops.

The additional four months will be classified as reserve duty, allowing soldiers to complete a total of three years of military service.

The military will also cancel pre-release leave for soldiers. Troops will have to serve a full three years before being discharged.


This decision follows months of intense fighting and rising casualties, which have strained troop levels.

The extra four months will provide benefits for the soldiers, given that reserve duty is usually compensated by the Israeli government. The army states that its decision is temporary and aims to help alleviate the current troop shortages.

But just how, exactly, did it track time?

An ancient monument discovered in Turkey may just be an ancient monument. But, if its markings are what experts think they are, it might be the world’s oldest solar calendar .

In a study published in Time and Mind based on the work of researchers from the University of Edinburgh, experts write that markings at Göbekli Tepe in southern Turkey, a temple-like archaeological complex filled with intricately carved symbols, indicate the makings of a solar calendar that tracks days, seasons, and years.

By analyzing the symbols carved onto pillars, the team believes that every “V” could represent a single day, given that one pillar featured 365 days. And among those, the summer solstice in particular was highlighted with a V worn around the neck of a bird-like beast meant to represent the summer solstice constellation during that time. The calendar explanation could help explain why the V symbol appears on so many other nearby statues of deities linked to time and creation, with the V almost always showing up around their neck.

The calendar’s preoccupation with day, night, and seasonal changes may have sparked anew with a world-changing comet strike, one that experts believed occurred in roughly 10,850 B.C. and helped contribute to a mini-ice age that eliminated numerous species.

“It appears the inhabitants of Gobekli Tepe were keen observers of the sky,” Martin Sweatman, lead study researcher from the University of Edinburgh’s School of Engineering, said in a statement. “Which is to be expected given their world had been devastated by a comet strike. The event might have triggered civilization by initiating a new religion and by motivating developments in agriculture to cope with the cold climate. Possibly, their attempts to record what they saw are the first steps toward the development of writing millennia later.”

The carvings also track cycles for both the Moon and the Sun, which pre-date other calendar finds of this type by “many millennia,” the group wrote. By tracking the movements of meteors and the Earth, the ancient research may have also shown for the first time that comet strikes happen more when Earth’s orbit crosses the path of circling comet fragments, something modern-day researchers have proven.

To help support this theory, the team points to another pillar at the site appearing to picture the Taurid meteor stream lasting 27 days, which was quite possibly the source of the ancient comet strike.

The researchers believe that the temple carvings show the ancient civilization was recording dates precisely, noting how the movement of constellations across the sky differed based on the time of the year. This would be 10,000 years before Hipparchus of ancient Greece documented the wobble in the Earth’s axis in 150 BC, making this newfound calendar well ahead of its time.
