Former White House senior adviser Jared Kushner was reportedly behind his father-in-law US President Donald Trump’s plan, announced yesterday, for the US to take over Gaza and clear it of Palestinians.

Kushner was involved in crafting Trump’s prepared remarks that he made alongside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, Puck news reports, citing an anonymous source familiar with the matter.

Netanyahu had not requested that Trump pursue such a plan ahead of time, Puck adds.

Kushner appeared to hint at the entire idea in a speech he gave last year.

“Gaza’s waterfront property — it could be very valuable, if people would focus on building up livelihoods,” Kushner said during an event at Harvard.

“It’s a little bit of an unfortunate situation there, but I think from Israel’s perspective, I would do my best to move the people out and then clean it up,” Kushner added. “But I don’t think that Israel has stated that they don’t want the people to move back there afterward.”

🚨 Trump: If All Hostages Not Released By Saturday, Gaza Ceasefire Should Be Canceled — Jerusalem Post

"Let all hell break loose; Israel can override it," he said.

If all the hostages held in the Gaza Strip are not returned by Saturday at noon, the ceasefire deal should be canceled, US President Donald Trump said on Monday.

"If all the Gaza hostages aren't returned by Saturday at 12 p.m., I would say cancel the ceasefire. Let all hell break loose; Israel can override it," he said, noting that it was Israel's decision.

"But as far as I'm concerned... I would say cancel it, and all bets are off," he added. "All of them, not in drips and drabs, not two and one and three and four and two."

Trump's statement came just hours after Hamas announced on its Telegram account that it had canceled the release of hostages on February 15 until further notice due to an Israeli violation.

Following the announcement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu consulted with top security officials, and the security cabinet will convene later on Tuesday morning.

In a statement, Hamas said the delay was a “warning” to Israel and the countries mediating intended to pressure Israel to strictly adhere to the ceasefire agreement.

Trump addresses Palestinian relocation
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump also said he might withhold aid to Jordan and Egypt if they don't take Palestinian refugees who would be relocated from Gaza.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is set to depart later this week for his first visit to the Middle East, met Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty in Washington on Monday.

Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty told Rubio that Arab countries support Palestinians in rejecting Trump's plan. Cairo fears Palestinians could be forced across Egypt's border with Gaza.

Trump is set to meet Jordan's King Abdullah II on Tuesday and had previously stated that Middle Eastern nations would be willing to take Palestinians after he meets with them.

'I Much Prefer A Nuclear Deal': Trump Dismisses Talk Of US–Israeli Attacks On Iran

Reports from last year said Trump’s team was mulling options for strikes on the Iranian nuclear program

US President Donald Trump has denied that Washington and Tel Aviv are planning military attacks against the Islamic Republic of Iran, saying that he would “much prefer” a nuclear agreement preventing Tehran from acquiring an atomic weapon.

“I want Iran to be a great and successful Country, but one that cannot have a nuclear weapon. Reports that the United States, working in conjunction with Israel, is going to blow Iran into smithereens, ARE GREATLY EXAGGERATED,” Trump said early on 5 February on his social media platform Truth Social.

“I would much prefer a Verified Nuclear Peace Agreement, which will let Iran peacefully grow and prosper. We should start working on it immediately, and have a big Middle East celebration when it is signed and completed. God Bless the Middle East!” the president went on to state.

In early February, reports said that Trump shot down Israeli plans for an attack on Iranian nuclear facilities.

Trump expressed hope late last month that a nuclear deal could be “worked out without having to go that further step,” referring to an attack.

US President Donald Trump stated that Palestinians would not have the right of return under his proposed plan for Gaza.

When asked by Fox News Channel’s Bret Baier whether Palestinians would be granted this right, Trump responded, “No, they wouldn’t, because they’re going to have much better housing.” He added, “In other words, I’m talking about building a permanent place for them.”

The war in Gaza could potentially resume if Hamas rejects the Israeli premier’s demands for the second phase

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin is set to present his demands for the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire to Israel’s Security Cabinet, with Hamas is expected to reject them, according to a report by Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper on 10 February.

His conditions include expelling all Hamas leadership from Gaza, dismantling the resistance group’s military wing, the Qassam Brigades, and securing the release of all Israeli captives held in Gaza.

There are currently 76 Israeli prisoners in the strip, while thousands of Palestinians remain detained in Israeli prisons under severe conditions, with many dying in custody. The Hebrew daily states that if Hamas agrees to these terms, the war in Gaza will end.

The report also reveals that Netanyahu discussed the ceasefire terms with US President Donald Trump and West Asia envoy Steve Witkoff. If Hamas rejects the demands, Netanyahu may extend the first phase of the ceasefire and avoid commitments to end the war or fully withdraw Israeli forces from Gaza.

Additionally, Israel could continue to manipulate the entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Despite interventionist statements from White House officials urging the exclusion of Hezbollah from the government, the Lebanese resistance secured the representation it initially sought

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam officially announced the formation of a new government for Lebanon on 8 February, naming 24 ministers to his cabinet, including five allied with the so-called “Shia duo” of Hezbollah and the Amal Movement....

Salam also stressed his government would “complete the implementation of [UNSC] Resolution 1701 and the ceasefire agreement” with Israel, stressing that Israeli occupation troops must “withdraw to the last inch of Lebanese territory.”

Lebanese officials revealed that the first Cabinet session will be held on Tuesday at Baabda Palace, following the official group photo.

The successful formation of Salam's government comes one day after US special envoy to West Asia Morgan Ortagus declared during a news conference that Hezbollah would not be a part of the Lebanese government and that its “reign of terror” was “over.”

"We have set clear red lines from the US that they won't be able to terrorize the Lebanese people, and that includes by being a part of the government,” Ortagus said while alongside Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.

Despite Washington's interventionist statements, the country's new cabinet is split evenly between Christian and Muslim sects, including five ministries headed by allies of Hezbollah and Amal....

“After all the threats and arrogance, the [Shia duo] entered the government in full partnership. Not a single name has changed after Ortagus's words, and the duo ultimately approved the appointment of the fifth minister,” Lebanese journalist Hosam Matar said via social media, referring to a reported dispute between Salam and the Shia parties over their representation in government....

Saturday's cabinet formation also marked the end of the caretaker government of long-serving prime minister Najib Mikati.

Following general elections in 2022, Lebanon was mired in a years-long presidential deadlock. This impasse was broken late last year after the implementation of a one-sided ceasefire deal with Israel. Under heavy US and Gulf pressure, the Lebanese parliament elected former armed forces commander Joseph Aoun as President. He elected former chief judge at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) Nawaf Salam to head the government as Prime Minister.
