Sinaloa: Mayiza sicarios seen arming a drone
In this footage, sicarios from the Mayiza branch of the Sinaloa cartel can be observed attaching an improvised drop munition to DJI drone somewhere in Sinaloa, likely near Cosalá.
This is a DJI Matrice 30 series drone, piloted with a DJI RC Plus series controller. The munition can be seen with two impact fuzes, for detonation, and stabilising fins for a smooth drop. There is also something wrapped around the body of the munition, possibly extra shrapnel or just something to make transport easier.
The cameraman can be heard referring to the “Chapozetas”, which is a derogatory nickname for their rivals from the Chapitos branch of the Sinaloa cartel.

C-UAS systems seen in Sinaloa
Shown here are two different anti-drone guns seen with Mayiza sicarios in Sinaloa. The first is an eight-band jammer, likely from Chinese supplier Tatusky (although there are multiple suppliers selling identical systems).
Slide 2 features another 8 band handheld counter-UAS system, likely from ZD Tech. This one is missing the optic. It can be seen again in slide 3, where Mayiza sicarios are seen navigating the terrain.
The use of these C-UAS systems by Mexican cartels has become a daily occurrence, along with other systems such as manpack style jammers and drone detection systems.
