El Army: Alleged US military veteran with the Sinaloa cartel

In Chiapas, there is a commander in the CDS/Mayiza who, according to people on the ground and various corridos dedicated to him, is a Mexican-born US military GWOT veteran.

With the very creative callsign El Army, this subject supposedly brought his experience from the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts back to Mexico. He operates under Jesús Esteban Machado Meza, El Güero Pulseras, with his own group: the Fuerzas Especiales Army.

Other details available from corridos dedicated to him are that he is originally from Mexicali, the son of a commander killed in Oct 2003.

Slide 4 shows some of his men, two of whom can be seen with FE Army patches. Holding the RPD is his cousin, El Paisa, who also has his own corrido (slide 5), seen again in slide 6.

Without El Army’s identity, his story can’t be verified. It is also possible that he embellished his background. I have a hard time believing that a GWOT vet would buy into the cartel “special forces” theme.

Chiapas, Mexico: Mayiza/Pulseriza sicarios on patrol

In this video, the lead vehicle in a convoy of Pulseriza sicarios, from the Mayiza branch of the Sinaloa cartel, can be seen patrolling the streets of Cintalapa, Chiapas.

The weapon seen is an FN Scar H, fitted with an EOTech optic and magnifier, as well as a ProMag 50 round drum magazine.

There is a Starlink terminal visible on the roof of the vehicle, something that has quickly become standard operating procedure for many armed groups in Mexico.

The Pulseriza is a Mayiza faction operating under Jesús Esteban Machado Meza aka El Güero Pulseras, considered the Mayiza leader in the state of Chiapas.

From the drone interface, the payload release mechanism can be identified as an SZY FT100P Max.

This model is designed to fit DJI Matrice 400 drones and has a payload capacity of 10kg (4 stages of 2.5kg each).

Similar payload release system being used by Cabreras/Mayiza drone operator.
