Announcing Project CiRCLE 1.1.0!
Starting now, maintainers will work on rolling out the new update with some little tweaks here and there.
This version includes the following new stuff:
- Keep battery saver on while charging. Some OEMs (E.g. Samsung with One UI, Xiaomi with MIUI and HyperOS, Huawei with EMUI and HarmonyOS) have this feature where battery saver would stay on while the device is charging. We now implemented that feature with our own bare hands!
- Dual channel support for SBC HD! Credits go to @Flopster101 for the patchset!
With the following fixups:
- Switch to UN1CA's PIF JSON as the default PIF JSON provider since halcyon's JSON isn't updated often.
Alongside the following merges:
- July 2026 Android Security Bulletin (its just a string change bro)
- LineageOS fixups

We believe in quality over quantity. We don't aim to have a gazillion features, but have some just enough to make the ROM daily drivable by everyone, whether you're blind (conditional charging sounds), you have OCD (conditional boot animation), or you're constantly travelling (battery saver on charge).
We aim to be unique, not another ROM with 95139524963915193 cherry-picked features. We also contribute to some ROMs with what we develop, so if you see the features we develop elsewhere, just know that it's most probably us that suggested that feature be added to that ROM.

Starting today, maintainers will work on rolling out this patch update which includes an important workaround for a privacy hazard of a feature introduced by Google for the sake of saving battery.
This version includes the following new stuff:
- Device config to disable closure of QUIC connections. This configuration is a workaround for a bug introduced on Android 16 where any app could "leak traffic outside the VPN tunnel".[1][2]

[2] This change was made with a small patch by GrapheneOS back in May 2026, but I was notified of this bug only now. I went with device config approach since the SimpleDeviceConfig overlay seems to be untouched by LineageOS, and it looked like the easiest place to apply the workaround while giving the user the option to understand the implications of enabling this and enable it using ADB.

- Correct the name of the wallpaper file for Aya Maruyama (Pastel*Palettes). Because the name wasn't properly reflected in the array, it wasn't appearing in the wallpaper picker at all.

Project CiRCLE is a community project. We, the two developers and the two designers behind it, are only the driving forces of it.
There's a fine line between "my ROM" and "our ROM". "My ROM" refers to a ROM that's closed to community feedback and contributions. "Our ROM" refers to a ROM that follows the opposite direction.
To be more specific, CyanogenOS goes under "my ROM" and Project CiRCLE goes under "our ROM".
Don't fret if your feedback and/or contribution is rejected. Maybe it will help someone else come up with a better idea and propose one that's closer to CiRCLE's philosophy.
Remember, we aim to be no-crap, no-unnecessary-bloat and no-gore.
