Если серьезно, то другие два варианта прекрасно подходят под фразу
"Это вышло мне боком"
- обернулось против меня, как бы. Но близко это к "вышло мне боком"? Да! Браво
Хотя знаете, я больше встретила фразы в духе Кто - то обернулся против меня, напр.:

- это был вариант в моей голове. Тут как будто больше посыла в духе "я что-то сделал, но получил негативный результат"
