Android and Chrome will still be part of Google
- in August 2024, a US district judge deemed Google a monopoly, possibly threatening the company to sell some of its products
- Fast forward a year later, the short answer is: Google will not need to sell Android and Chrome
- Google can also continue to pay to maintain its default position in other products
- However, Google will be barred from exclusive contracts that required companies to preload certain Google services to license Play Store
- Additionally, Google has to share certain search data with qualified competitors to promote competition

Google will make โ€œAlways Use Secure Connectionsโ€ the default settingโ€”first for Enhanced Safe Browsing users, then for everyone by October 2026.

No more HTTP by default. Safer web, less room for attacks.
