#Litecoin was created by Charlie Lee from a copy of #Bitcoin's source code (as opposed to forking it from the #Bitcoin blockchain) which makes #Litecoin an entirely new blockchain without a shared genesis block.

$LTC and $ETC, the first 2 #Hardforks of $BTC (2011) and $ETH (2016) respectively, are assets that have always been highly correlated, with $ETC often lag the trend of $ETH.
It's for this reason that I always kept an eye out after these 2 precious Alts (for me) which are ranked #19 for #Litecoin, and #29 for #EthereumClassic which last year generated me nice gains (x8) during its quick pump over $180.

โจLayer-1 & Layer-2 Blockchain Scaling Solutions
For blockchains to compete with legacy payments processors, they need to be able to process high volumes of transactions quickly, at a low cost.
โซ๏ธWhy is Scalability Important?
The main goal of scalability is to increase transaction speed (faster finality) and transaction throughput (higher transactions per second) without sacrificing decentralization or security.
โซ๏ธThere are 2 primary ways to achieve blockchain scalability: Layer-1 & Layer-2 Solutions. ๐๐
1๏ธโฃ LAYER-1
It's a network that acts as infrastructure for other applications, protocols, and networks to build on top of. A public decentralized layer-1 network's primary characteristic is its consensus mechanism.
๐น#Bitcoin
๐น#LItecoin
๐น#Algorand
๐น#Cardano
๐น#Hedera
๐น#Solana
๐น#Ethereum 2.0 is one high-profile blockchain protocol that is exploring shards, along with #Zilliqa, #Tezos, and #Qtum.
2๏ธโฃ LAYER-2
It refers to a secondary framework or protocol that is built on top of an existing blockchain system. The main goal of these protocols is to solve the transaction speed and scaling difficulties that are being faced by the major crypto networks.
๐น#Polygon
๐น#Arbitrum
๐น#Loopring
๐น#ImmutableX
๐น#xDaiChain
โซ๏ธLayer-1 vs Layer-2 Key Differences
The main difference between layer-1 vs layer-2 scalability solutions lies in their role and focus on the blockchain. ๐๐๐
๐ Layer-1 is here to improve the blockchain architecture, while layer-2 is here to build third-party networks on top of the main blockchain.
๐ Layer-1 can provide the most effective solution in large-scale protocol upgrades. However, using this method also means that the validator must be convinced to accept changes via a hard fork.
๐ Layer-2 provides a faster way to increase scalability. However, users can potentially lose the level of security of the original blockchain due to the use of third parties.
โซ๏ธConclusion
๐๐ปLayer-1 and layer-2 are just two sides of the same scaling solution. Therefore, they have a strategy designed to make the blockchain network faster and more accommodating for a rapidly growing user base.
๐๐ปThese strategies also do not outperform each other, and many blockchain networks are exploring combinations of layer-1 and layer-2 scaling solutions on blockchains to achieve increased scalability without compromising security or adequate decentralization.

โก๏ธ#LiteCoin Exit Range New Tentativeโผ๏ธ
๐ One doesn't leave without the other, and both are pioneers in public blockchain implementations, just like the $ETH & $ETC pair with almost same story, this is #Litecoin, the first ever #Bitcoin fork created by Charlie Lee in 2011.
๐ Here too, $LTC is a token often too often criticized badly, but which is always the first Alt to catch the train when $BTC pumps, due to their strong correlation which has never weakened.
๐ A month ago, first attempt to exit a 8-month-mature-range which failed at $85, before falling back on the Fibo at 61.8% and bouncing from there for a second breakout attempt in progress.

๐ As expected (and despite all experts announcing daily corrections), $BTC continues its bullrun breaking the key level of $24,000, followed by $LTC passing above the psychological level of $100 and $ETH hitting $1,700. Note a nice +13% jump for $ATOM which reached $15 its highest since 5-Nov.
๐ And more mass liquidations for those who have been shorting the market for weeks, betting on an upcoming correction in $BTC which apparently will not be for this week yet...
