Polymer Research Co-op Opportunity – Case Western Reserve University

Case Western Reserve University is seeking motivated Co-op students to join Prof. Ica Manas-Zloczower’s research group in the Department of Macromolecular Science and Engineering.

🔬 Research focus:

Vitrimerization, polymer recycling, sustainable materials, and polymer processing, with a focus on transforming thermoset waste into reprocessable materials.

🧪 Responsibilities & Training:

Polymer sample preparation and processing

Laboratory equipment operation

Mechanical, thermal, rheological, and spectroscopic characterization

Data analysis and experimental design

Literature review and experimental documentation

Troubleshooting and technical communication


🎓 Eligible fields:

Polymer Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.

⭐ Requirements:

Strong academic record and interest in experimental research and sustainable materials

Previous polymer research experience is helpful but not required

Training will be provided

Ability to work independently and as part of a research team

Minimum 1-year commitment
