✍️ Iranian military forces launched a large-scale retaliation on the morning of August 31, the evening of September 1, and the early morning of September 2, in response to U.S. airstrikes on southern and central Iran. The operation involved waves of precision ballistic missiles and scores of loitering munitions targeting American assets across multiple countries, including the U.S. Fifth Fleet and Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain, Muwaffaq Salti and Prince Hassan Air Bases and Camp Titin in Jordan, Ali Al-Salem and Ahmad Al-Jaber in Kuwait, Al-Dhafra and Al-Minhad in the UAE, and Al-Harir and Erbil in Iraq.

🇺🇸🇮🇷⚡️ — U.S. intelligence assessments suggest Iran has become increasingly confident in its ability to strike targets across the Middle East and may seek to prolong the conflict for months rather than negotiate with Washington, NYT reports.

Officials briefed on the intelligence say Tehran has gained a clearer understanding of its military strengths during the six-month conflict and could be considering a significant escalation.

The assessments indicate Iran currently sees little incentive to reach a deal and may instead seek to drag the war through the U.S. midterm elections, betting that higher energy prices, American casualties, and public dissatisfaction with the conflict will increase political pressure on President Trump.

U.S. officials warn Iran could return to the level of escalation seen in July, when it repeatedly targeted American bases, shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, and infrastructure across the Gulf.

🇮🇱📰 The Jerusalem Post is brainstorming ideas on how to get the US to start a land war with Iran despite massive problems, including a shortage of soldiers (up to 1.5 million soldiers would be needed!).

The solution?
