🇺🇸🇮🇷⚡️- It could take six months to clear the Strait of Hormuz of mines placed by the Iranian military, and the effort likely would not begin until after the war with Iran ends, the Pentagon informed Congress, according to The Washington Post.

🇮🇷| Iran’s Parliament Speaker, Ghalibaf:

“Complete ceasefire only makes sense if it isn’t violated by naval blockade, the hostage-taking of the world’s economy, and if the Zionist warmongering across all fronts is halted.

Otherwise re-opening the Strait of Hormuz is impossible.”

🇮🇷 Iran’s geography: mountain fortress bringing death to invaders for thousands of years

Iran’s 800 km+ northern Persian Gulf coastline, bound by the Zagros Mountains and punctuated by wetlands and swamps, has been a nightmare for invaders for much of recorded history, creating serious or insurmountable obstacles for everyone from Alexander the Great and ancient Arab tribes to the Ottoman, Portuguese and British empires, and Saddam Hussein’s Iraq.

If the US is serious about boots on the ground, it’s setting itself up for disaster, says The Lookout author and analyst Zeke Lunder.

💬 “Just the density and continuity of human use in this coastal plain that extends here for 500 miles makes it really difficult for us to find clandestine activity. That, and you’ve got this natural landscape that is just incredibly broken and natural. It’s just like the canyon lands of Utah,” Lunder explained, referring to Zagros, analyzing a 3D Google Earth map of Iran’s coast.

🗣 “There’s no limit on the number of places you could hide a drone or hide some rocket launchers, or anything else,” he stressed.

💬 “This is a highly developed, highly civilized country…We’re dealing with a country that’s been here for thousands of years.”

🇮🇷⚡️- According to the New York Times, the IRGC is the main ruling force within the Iranian regime, as Mojtaba Khamenei has had one leg operated on thrice, and most likely amputated, in addition to surgery on one hand with continual nerve damage, and severe damage to his face and lips, which limit his ability to speak clearly.

Notably, since the start of the War in Iran, the generals have taken the initiative due to the length of time it takes for messages to reach Khamenei, due to extreme security precautions, and fearing an attempt on his life. For example, it was the IRGC who strategized the attacks on Israel and the Gulf States, closing the Strait of Hormuz, and agreed to the ceasefire with the United States.

As for leadership within the IRGC, they've sidelined Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in favor of Speaker of Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, along with military generals who attended the negotiations in Islamabad for the first time.
❗️🇺🇸/🇮🇷 BREAKING: The Iranian Parliament has prepared a draft law on new regulations for passage through the Strait of Hormuz

It includes the following:

– The payment of tolls in Rials prior to granting passage rights.

– Inclusion of the name ‘Persian Gulf’ in all contracts.

– Payment of compensation (in addition to tolls) by ships affiliated with nations that took part in the war against Iran.

Passage through the Strait is permanently PROHIBITED for:

1. Ships associated with Israel.

2. Countries that sanction Iran or act as accomplices in blocking Iranian assets.

3. Military vessels of hostile nations, including the United States.

🇮🇱/🇱🇧/🇺🇳/🇮🇹 NOTE: Before Italian UNIFIL forces put up a new statue of Jesus Christ in the town of Debel (after it was destroyed by Israelis), the IDF made a post on X claiming they placed a new one to replace the one that was destroyed

However, the replacement that was initially placed by the IDF was actually STOLEN from another local church in southern Lebanon (image 2), so the Italians returned it and brought a proper replacement.

💵 🇺🇸 📈 USD share of global transactions:

February 2026: 49.2%
March 2026: 51.1% RECORD

The dollar hit its highest share of international payments.

The world isn't replacing the dollar.

It's building more infrastructure that requires the dollar.

More US LNG → more dollar-denominated energy trade.

More sanctions risk → more dollar-clearing dependency.

More geopolitical fear → more dollar safe-haven flows.

De-dollarization is a direction.

Not a destination anyone is arriving at.

I wrote a nice article about is last week: https://themerchantsnews.substack.com/p/buffett-and-china-are-making-the
