🇬🇧 Riots erupt in Belfast after Sudanese man arrested over attempted beheading
A man in his 40s is in serious condition after being attacked on a street in the Kinnaird Avenue area of north Belfast on Monday evening. Video posted online shows a man straddling the victim and repeatedly slashing his face, eyes, neck and back with a kitchen knife. Bystanders intervened to stop the attack. A Sudanese man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
The incident triggered calls for protests across Northern Ireland, spreading rapidly on social media. Hundreds of people, many masked, gathered across Belfast on Tuesday night. A bus and multiple vehicles were set on fire, roads were blocked, and smoke rose from several parts of the city as police helicopters circled overhead.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the attack as "horrific" and "sickening," appealing for calm. Northern Irish police also urged restraint.
This comes a year after more than a week of anti-immigration unrest swept Northern Ireland following the arrest of two Romanian teenagers on rape charges in Ballymena — charges that were subsequently dropped.

Beginning in 2027, new vehicles sold in the U.S. will include driver-monitoring systems designed to track eye movement, attention, distraction, and signs of impairment.
Most people have no idea this is coming.
For over a century, the automobile represented freedom. You got in, turned the key, and went where you wanted without asking permission.
Now cars are starting to look a lot more like our phones, computers, social media accounts, and smart devices: always connected, always collecting, always watching.
The concern isn't just what the technology can do today. It's what it becomes tomorrow.
More monitoring.
More data collection.
More behavioral profiling.
And with every new sensor, camera, and algorithm, we end up with a little less control, a little less privacy, and a little less autonomy over our own lives.
The open road used to symbolize freedom.
In the coming years, it will symbolize compliance.

Here is Rutte voting. This behavior is so typical of politicians. Growing up in DC I can tell you, they are dumb as rocks and happy to fuck things up again and again with not cognizance nor concern.

Türkiye’s security begins not only in Hatay, but also in Aleppo, Damascus, and Beirut.
We will not tolerate any fait accompli in our brotherly nations, nor will we turn a blind eye to aggression against them.
