Wood, W. (2021). Analytic Theology and the Academic Study of Religion. Oxford University Press, USA.
In this brilliant work, William Wood argues that analytic theology shows a way in which theology can flourish in the secular university. On the one hand, he tries to persuade theologians that analytic theology is a genuine form of theology. On the other hand, he seeks to convince scholars/philosophers of religion that it counts as a legitimate form of academic inquiry about religion inasmuch as philosophy is relevant in the secular academy. The book would be of interest to those who are grappling with the problem of normativity in the academic study of religion.
I am excited to be solicited for a review of the book (in Persian).
If you have time to catch a glimpse of the book, please share your thoughts on it in the comments section.
