Important Information Regarding Phase 2 University of Delhi PhD Admissions

1.This is the Phase 2 PhD admission form, not the regular PhD form that typically comes out during June/July/August.

2.The seat structure and division are limited because most seats were filled during Phase 1. Phase 2 is considered the second round of admissions.

3.For more clarity, you are advised to carefully check the Prospectus/Brochure where details about departmental procedures and allied subject options are mentioned.

4.No separate entrance examination is conducted for Phase 2; however, some departments may conduct a skill test or similar assessments. Kindly refer to the Prospectus/Brochure or visit the respective department website for complete details and updates.

5.After submitting the application form, regularly check the University website and Department website for further updates regarding the admission process.

6.You may also coordinate directly with professors or department coordinators for admission-related guidance.

7.Ensure that you have a Research Proposal/Synopsis ready while filling out the application form, as it might be required during the admission or interview process.

8.The admission portal remains open for only 14–15 days, so do not wait for the last date. Fill out your form early and focus on preparing for the interview.

9.All three categories (NET-JRF qualified, NET qualified without JRF, and Non-NET candidates) are eligible to apply for PhD admissions under Phase 2 (for June 2024/December 2024 sessions).

10.Phase 1 candidates do not have to pay the application fee again, as per the guidelines mentioned in the brochure. The fee adjustment will be reflected in your payment wallet.

11.First-time applicants must complete all steps of registration and apply as a new application.

1.The admission is completely based on interview performance and academic approach.

2.Other factors like only having a JRF are not a guarantee of selection; many JRF holders are not selected, and many non-JRF candidates are selected purely based on their proposal strength, approach, and interaction with professors.

3.Therefore, do not overthink about your background. Just focus fully on preparing a strong research proposal and making a confident, clear academic approach under the guidance of professors.
