The Irish e-tenders website has published details of the public direct award of contracts for the provision of accommodation and ancillary services for refugees arriving in Ireland as a result of the Ukrainian conflict. Short-term contracts to the value of over 100 million euro were awarded for the three months from March 2022 to June 2022. Full details below. This breakdown includes catering contracts of over 10 million euro awarded for the provision of catering and ancillary services at the City West complex in Dublin. It also includes security contracts for provision of security at a number of accommodation sites.

This euro value only relates to the contract award size and doesn’t necessarily reflect the actual amounts due/paid to accommodation providers for the period which could well be a lot higher given the acceleration of Ukrainian refugees that arrived into the country over the summer and later into the autumn.

A valid question to ask now is if these accommodation centres are providing accommodation to refugees outside of Ukraine as well?

Latest data from IPAS indicates over 16,800 non-Ukrainian refugees are in accommodation in Ireland in 2022 of which over 11,000 have arrived here this year. So this would be in addition to any Ukrainian numbers you see published in mainstream news outlets. Also if these new temporary accommodation centres below are housing .... continues at link
