ββπ¬π§ Britain's favourite websites
That #Google affiliated webpages have been visited by nearly 100 percent of all Britons with an online connection comes as no surprise. However, websites of the Wikimedia Foundation, only seem to be known by every second British citizen. The most visited native British sites are BBC related webpages, some 86 percent have visited one of their internet presences.

ββπ£ The State of Chinese Voice Assistants
China is the second-largest consumer market in the world, hitting $4.3T in consumer expenditure in 2016 alone (for reference, the US ranked first with $12.5T, and Japan third with $2.7T).
The Chinese smart home market will reach nearly $23B in 2018, according to Juniper Research. #SmartSpeakers and #AI voice assistants are becoming an integral part of that.
Now that smart speakers are becoming commonplace, the early entrant, #Amazon, is losing its market share β and not just to its rival #Google, but to newer players emerging in China.

ββπ€ Android's Dominance
Ten years ago, on September 23, 2008, the T-Mobile G1 made its debut, marking the birth hour of #Android. More than a year after #Apple had released the first #iPhone, Androidβs debut wasnβt as spectacular and, as opposed to the iPhone, the first Android device still had a physical keyboard. But #Googleβs open approach to building a mobile platform quickly proved to be successful and it took less than three years for Android to become the number 1 platform in the booming smartphone market.

ββπ° The Future of Google's Revenue
#Google introduced several new products at its big hardware event on Tuesday. Among the devices were the new Pixel 3 phones, a new tablet called Pixel Slate and a smart home device called Google Home Hub.
While Googleβs hardware ambitions are still limited and widely considered a means to an end (which is to collect more data and sell more advertising), the range of the companyβs products and services has widened significantly over the years (with companies such as Access, Calico, CapitalG, GV, Nest, Verily, #Waymo and X).
#Googleβs many side-activities have steadily grown over the years and in 2017, the companyβs non-advertising revenue reached $15.5 billion, up from just $667 million in 2008. More importantly though, the percentage of Googleβs revenue that didnβt come from advertising sales grew from 3.1% in 2008 to 14% last year, indicating that the search giant can no longer be considered a one trick pony.

ββπ The War of Search Engines
Nearly 30 million searches are entered every day in the search box of #DuckDuckGo. Unlike #Google, this search engine does not collect user data and does not use personalised advertising.
This, and probably the steadily growing list of data scandals has been assisting a sustained upward trend for the past few years. In 2015, the milestone of ten million searches in one day was cracked for the first time. Two years later, it was already 20 million and in October 2018 it is almost at 30 million.
Nevertheless, compared to Google, these are still very small figures - according to TechCrunch, the search giant handles at least 3 billion search requests a day.

ββπ€³ Stickiest Social Media Platforms
While #Snapchat may lack #Facebookβs massive user numbers, its efforts to create an engaging app continue to show signs of success. While Facebookβs 69% stickiness still tops the list, Snapchat racks of a 43% stickiness rating, placing it comfortably ahead of larger competitors like #Google Hangouts (37% stickiness) and #Instagram (35% stickiness).
