But for a more accurate sorting of rooms and topics, we need your feedback on which activities you want to participate in. Please choose all you want to visit.

Coffee will be served Thu and Fri in the 3rd-floor lobby.

Some of the WORKSHOPS are well-predefined, and some of them are still TBA, but they will happen if we will have enough people, so please choose first, and we will sort out what where in those three rooms in three or two streams will happen, and in which order:

BIBFRAME Workshop in Europe 2024

@nugged: I am now here:
https://www.bfwe.eu/helsinki_2024

The aim of the BIBFRAME Workshop in Europe is to be a forum for sharing knowledge about the practice of, production with, and planning of BIBFRAME implementation.
We bring together people working in the transition from MARC to Linked Data using the BIBFRAME model and related tools.
The workshop areas are strongly focused on the practical implementation of BIBFRAME, not a theoretical Linked Data / Semantic Web event.

I will talk with BIBFRAME People here mostly from Koha POV.

if someone want to steer me for some particular topics - please message me in any way (https://t.me/nugged on mobile the fastest).

Or in Koha Community Mattermost: https://chat.koha-community.org/koha-community/pl/7cen15xo83ggdkd8r5me53n68w

🐪 Perl Community-related info
and call to FOLLOW:
@PerlNews (for Perl life & Koha dev)
@PerlKohaCon (for Koha usage),

———

KohaCon itself is more about exchange of Libraries (and expert librarians) experience in usage of Koha ILS, the Very Perl Product,

and also exchange of Perl-related knowledge among Koha developers from associated organizations, especially how to use full Perl and related Software stack to make the most of it for Koha,

So, the talks are more oriented around Libraries-as-users-vs-Software-Product, but we also have Perl Dev talks in the background and Perl Community attention is needed for the Koha Community.

Andrii and the team will continue informing Perl people outside of the Koha sphere about this.

More info will be available here on https://t.me/PerlNews
and some more Libraries-only related on https://t.me/perlkohacon channels.

Feel free to contact Andrii on any topic related both communities: linkedin.com/in/nugged

Happy Birthday Perl!

... it started in 1987, 37 years ago.

===

Happy Birthday, Perl! Today marks 37 years since Larry Wall first released this remarkable language. Over nearly four decades, Perl has grown into a powerful, versatile toolkit for everything from system administration to web development, thriving in a vibrant ecosystem that welcomes innovation.

Far from resting on its laurels, Perl’s community continues to produce exciting projects and updates. Koha, the leading open-source library system, stands as a flagship success story. Built with Perl, Koha’s global adoption in countless libraries demonstrates Perl’s enduring relevance and capacity to deliver mission-critical solutions.

The conversation around Perl remains lively: developers still gather over Advent calendars, producing daily insights and experiments that highlight the language’s flexibility. CPAN—the Comprehensive Perl Archive Network—keeps growing, offering tens of thousands of modules for just about any task.

As we celebrate another year, we salute Perl’s past and present, and look forward to its future expansions. Long live Perl and the projects that carry its banner forward!
