Within the project “ECAMPUZ European World Talent Camp for Uzbekistan Scientists in Food Science and Technology ERASMUS-EDU-2022-CBHE”, co-funded by the European Union 🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺, a two-week educational training CAMP 1 is being conducted from September 18 to September 30, 2023 among 26 undergraduate, graduate and PhD students 👩🏻🔬🧑🔬🧑🏻🎓👩🎓 from 5 Republican🇺🇿🇺🇿🇺🇿 universities of project partners:
Tashkent Institute of Chemical Technology, National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek, Bukhara Engineering and Technology Institute, Andijan State University and Urgench State University.
On September 27-28, students were trained in the Center for Advanced Technologies🧬🧬🧬 by the Professors and teachers from the University of Copenhagen🇩🇰 .
UCPH team🇩🇰 introduced advanced knowledge, innovative technologies and methods of analysis in the field of food science to Uzbek students.
The ECAMPUZ project CAMP 1 team organized a visit to a leading brewery plant in Uzbekistan “UzCarlsberg”🍻🍻🍻, where the CAMP 1 participants saw the modern technological line of producing beer, from the raw material to the ready product.
🏆🏆🏆CAMP 1 finished with a mini-conference in which the groups presented their innovative solutions to the problems in a plenary session in the CAT 🧬🧬🧬 on 29th September 2023. Teams demonstrated their presentations and received general feedback from the EU trainers to work on their final report, which is to be presented by December 31st 2023.

Criteria for the future participants of CAMP:
❗️MUST HAVE B2-C1 level of English (whether you have an international certificate of English knowledge or not, you will be tested by our evaluation team);
❗️Knowledge of Food Science: analytical, biochemistry, food chemistry, microbiology, and technology (your overall knowledge in food science will be tested by the project evaluation team in English);
❗️Relation to Food Science and Technology.
The students will be selected carefully according to their grades, expertise, and analytical as well as communicative and English language skills. Up to five students will be selected from each UZB partner HEI and/or from industrial partners (to be funded by the industries themselves) and the selection criteria will be based on their short CVs (grades, achievements, language and personal skills) and a half page of motivation in floating text. We aim to select students at MSc level or above, including PhD students and junior scientists👩🏻🔬👩🎓, with the possibility of participating in three consecutive training CAMPs.

During the follow-up visits, EU trainers will hold additional scientific seminars with CAMP 1 participants as well as with other UZB partners, including the food industry. This procedure will ensure progress and help to improve the next CAMP based on the feedback from both the CAMP 1 committee and students.
