Ostium is lowering max leverage for the markets below at 25th June 2026 ET. That raises margin requirements on existing positions in these markets and moves liquidation price closer to the current market price.
This is part of a regular risk management review, which accounts for gap and other protocol risks. The change alone shouldn't liquidate any current positions, but it leaves traders with a smaller buffer to liquidation. Our team identified the issue within minutes and immediately began taking steps to contain it, including coordinating to pause trading contracts within the hour. We are working closely with relevant law enforcement authorities, SEAL 911, and third-party cybersecurity experts.
