Ballyogan is putting up a good resistance, managing to prevent four buses of asylum seekers and their belongings entering the grounds of the recycling centre for the last few hours.
300 Ukrainians had been staying at a council owned facility inside the grounds for the last two years but the intention is to now swap them out. This will become a common manoeuvre in the months ahead for other sites presently accommodating Ukrainians.
EU and local election candidate Philip Dwyer was down talking to some of the locals earlier.

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council earlier announced the recycling centre would be closed pending further notice.
Philip Dwyer has posted footage of a soft cap public order unit at the site so there seems to be an increased effort to get them asylum seekers into the facility today.

An asylum seeker has been sentenced to 20 months in prison for taking out his private parts and 'wiggling' them at two girls, aged six and four, who were playing in their garden, and then punching their father in the face when he was confronted.
Dilbag Singh Sheoran denied the charges but the jury took less than 50 minutes to unanimously find him guilty on both counts.
The court heard Sheoran was living at the Atlas House direct provision centre on McCowen's Lane in Tralee, and was previously convicted in 2020 for masturbating in front of a woman on a train as it neared Portlaoise.

Drivers say the same gang of pickpockets have now been identified by several of their colleagues, who still have no choice but to let them on board.
Speaking to The Irish Mirror, one frustrated driver said: “It’s been going on for about a year or a year and a half now.
