The allegations are this foreign man tried to snatch a kid from a children's playground in the Grand Canal Dock area, probably the one beside the Marker luxury hotel as you can see it in the footage.

He appears to be exhibiting abnormal behavior similar to the foreigner who is alleged to have snatched a baby from a pram on Sheriff St one week ago.

Yesterday, footage circulated of a Ukrainian man getting a beating in Cork after serious allegations were made against him of doing unspeakable things to a boy in a disabled toilet stall in Merchant's Quay shopping centre. Supposedly he was questioned for six hours and released.

All the media could tell us is that gardaí "have confirmed that an investigation is underway following an incident of alleged assault" and that "no further information has been made available".

The frequency of incidents like this is startling especially as there seems to be an effort to brush them under the carpet, and this is causing a great deal of unease among the public.

Local election candidate for Finglas, Gavin Pepper, talks to three mothers who were witness to some of the events involving the child snatcher earlier.

They told Pepper that the man had been spotted at the Markiewicz House flats on Townsend St at around 8am acting suspiciously, checking out a young girl on a swing and walking around some babies in their prams.

He then left but returned at 3pm and started peering in people's windows. One mother confronted him and told him to fuck off and he tried to grab her. He then chased another mother and her child. Gardaí were called but never arrived to investigate.

Then later they heard he had tried to abduct two kids from the playground in the docklands. The mothers believe this wouldn't have happened if the gardaí had shown up when they requested them.

They also suspect he may have been just released from custody as they heard one garda remark:

"Oh you again, we only let you out at 8 o'clock this morning."

Roderic O'Gorman being asked repeatedly why the government is funding the provision of tents to asylum seekers, only to then fund their removal when they set them up.

Gavin Pepper is the first candidate I've seen campaigning for an Irish Rwanda style plan. People want real world solutions and Pepper is showing leadership proposing one. 👏

While it's true that a Finglas-Ballymun councillor won't be in a position to implement such a policy, this is seeding the idea into the public consciousness and we will need public representatives at all levels to get it done. The only alternative being discussed is more migrant camps on more public land.

Forty percent of the public already support a Rwanda plan. That number will grow and they need representation. Popular councillors can often subsequently be elected to the Dáil where they can then drive the real change needed too.

This will compound the pollution problems in the area caused by the overloaded Ringsend wastewater treatment plant which is releasing untreated sewage into the sea due to rapid population increases in Dublin and beyond.

Dublin City Council has closed the southside beach to swimmers for the entire summer as the water could cause illnesses.

Here's the government's vision: Find plots of land to move 250 migrants into own-zip accommodation every week, indefinitely.

They could stop it tomorrow by just making a Rwanda type deal.

They've estimated the cost of supplying just 10,000 beds for asylum seekers over 20 years at €5 billion while we are on track to be accepting 30,000 asylum seekers in 2024. We could spend a fraction of that accommodating them somewhere in Africa.

Once bogus asylum seekers understand they will be shipped out, they'll stop arriving and the ones here will mostly self-deport so you'll only end up paying for the tiny number of genuine cases to be relocated.
