This is 80-year-old Thomas Moran, who took the train down from Westport for the rally in Dublin yesterday. Moran says that Land League founder Michael Davitt has been the inspiration for the Mayo Says No campaigns.

"We are at a crossroads in history where globalisation is a serious threat ... They're building estates of houses, landscaped, everything, and giving them to foreigners while our people are dying on the streets of Dublin, Cork, and Limerick. None of these houses are going to the Irish people who are actually paying for them."

"What the government is doing—first of all, it has breached the agreement with the people. They've no mandate for what they're doing and yet they continue to pummel the Irish people and denigrate them, and they also have betrayed them at a level that's serious."
