The Kurdish man who attacked concerned locals with a railing on Sandwith Street last year and who is wanted in Turkey on terrorism charges after escaping prison there has a different name in today's RTร report on the asylum seeker slum outside the IPAS centre.
In 1996, Musa Dogan was convicted of committing criminal acts aimed at implementing a Marxist-Leninist regime using armed force. He originally got the death penalty, but it was reduced to 20 years. Turkish authorities say he had set fire to public buildings and a car, committed a bank robbery, wounded a guard and trapped a taxi driver in the boot of his cab.
RTร named him as Pir-Sami Kupiszewke. They didn't name the Trotskyist organisation he is associated with and who is responsible for the messaging on the tents: The Revolutionary Housing League.

No accommodation left for tourists in Killybegs says taxi driver Derek Vials who says soon there won't be anywhere left in south west Donegal either.
Vials told Ocean FM that it's affecting his business along with many others in the area but says the Irish Times won't print his letters highlighting their complaints.
He says his issue isn't with the individual accommodation providers profiteering in the asylum industry but with government policy enabling it.
"Now, there is a goldrush happening and a few people are making a killing out of war and people's misery but that's a different debate, but we're not going to be a social dumping ground for this government any longer."

A huge crowd turned out at a public meeting in Ballaghaderreen against plans for 47 modular homes beside Oakwod Private Nursing Home to house 206 Ukrainians.
More than 400 objections have been lodged with Roscommon County Council for the proposed site made up of 18 three bedroom units and 29 two bedroom units.
Local Sinn Fรฉin TD Claire Kerrane and Cllr Michael Mulligan criticised the Dept of Integration over the plan and advised people on delivering the submissions.
Local businessman Micheรกl Frain told the Roscommon Herald that โBallaghaderreen has been walked onโ.
Extra services were promised in 2017 when Syrian refugees arrived in the town. โItโs seven years down the line, no extra services have come to Ballaghaderreen, itโs a simple as that.โ
RTร reported on Friday that modular homes for Ukrainians cost an average of โฌ407,500 per unit.

Local man Michael Scally says there's been no benefit to Ballaghaderreen since asylum seekers started being dumped in the town in 2017 despite promises from the government.
"The TDs in this town are not government TDs so what more can you expect but more and more dumped on top of us. So enough is enough here tonight"
"I'm an elderly person. I'm 80 years of age and I meet every day elderly people who are looking for houses and they cannot get them. There are people beside me here who have been turned down over and over again."
"We must look after our own people."

The editor of one of Irelandโs leading news image agencies says news stories about protests against the government's immigration policies are deliberately spiked by national newspapers because "they seem to think if we ignore it, it will go away".
RollingNews editor, Eamonn Farrell, highlighted a recent protest in Naas in which around 300 people marched to oppose 985 Ukrainians being accommodated in 387 cabins on a site in the Newhall area. Despite covering the protest himself, none of his pictures were picked up.
"There wasn't a single word in the newspapers about it."
Farrell was speaking to Newstalk to complain about being served with a warrant to hand over all the photos his agency took of the turmoil in Dublin on November 23rd, both published and unpublished.
Farrell said he worries that the reliance on photojournalists for evidence will escalate the hostility towards them at protests.

A meeting for concerned citizens in Ballaghaderreen heard that elderly residents are now afraid to do their shopping in the town due to incidents of being harassed by foreigners and having their money stolen.
"And because these people that done it โand we know who done itโ are underage, our guards won't do anything about it, and they also won't say what nationality they are because they don't want to be called out as racist."
The meeting was called to oppose government plans to construct 47 modular homes beside Oakwod Private Nursing Home for the accommodation of 206 migrants.

There were allegations made by two locals at the meeting for concerned citizens in Ballaghaderreen on Wednesday that busloads of foreigners have been arriving in the town in a surreptitious fashion.
One local man ssaid you can see them being dropped off if you sit in the town square at one o'clock at night.
"...and they disappear, and they're gone to houses."
Former councillor Michael Scally said the buses are arriving from Belfast.
"...but there are loads and loads of people coming down from Belfast in here to Ballaghaderreen and there seems to be no garda looking out as to whether they're legitimate or not, and that has to stop now."
