This guy seems to be a regular audience member on Upfront with Katie Hannon although she never says his name.

The first clip is last night's show. The second clip was the show about the protest outside Leinster House when the Dรกil returned from the summer break.

Turns out the audience member above is Stephen Turner, an activist for the government-funded LGBT NGO called ShoutOut. He also runs a youtube channel where he shares his views on some political issues among other topics.

I think he was probably sincere about the points he was trying to make but questions need to be raised about RTร‰'s selection process for the audience participants on Upfront.

An X account promoting the show requested applications for audience members at 10:30am yesterday. How many seats were already filled at this point? Are invites sent to NGOs?

The question the first guy flubbed about "the diverse composition of modern Irish society" sounded like NGO jargon written by a committee, and that's why he had trouble getting it out.

You can see why he'd appeal to RTร‰.

Minister Helen McEntee has refused to release figures on the duration of time rejected asylum applicants are waiting before she tells them they can stay in Ireland despite failing their asylum bid "on humanitarian grounds," according to Independent TD Michael McNamara.

McNamara told the Tonight Show that he believes the chances of rejected asylum applicants being allowed to stay in Ireland increase the longer they are allowed to remain in the asylum system after being rejected.

"This is a large part of the problem. It is possibly one of the factors that is attractive about Ireland is the delay in processing asylum applications."

In 2017, an ESRI study found that approximately 80% of deportation orders against rejected asylum applicants were believed to go unimplemented despite 90% of them failing their applications at the time.

A Travellers' rights activist accused the government of discrimination at the Cork Says No rally today for spending โ‚ฌ800K on reuniting Ukrainians with their pets, while simultaneously impounding animals belonging to members of the Traveller community and euthanising them when the Travellers can't afford the bill to recover them. She claimed that the carcasses are then given to the zoo for food.

She also raised concerns about the government allowing migrants to enter the country with no passports, and said there was disparity in how asylum seekers are accommodated compared to Travellers who have their halting sites closed down or are run off the side of the road.

Referencing the lack of media coverage about the incident in Roscrea last Sunday when a foreign man allegedly tried to break into a mother's home while exposing himself, she told the rally:

"So now they've started attacking the Travellers when they're done with the settled community. Not a good idea!"

Credit to Kevin Coyle for the clip.

Thank you for listening. Here's the link to the stream where I talk about the two referendums, their significance, where they come from, and why you should vote No in it. Also some rambles on the future of the channel.

Care home used by Tusla โ€˜fabricatedโ€™ pre-employment checks of staff, posing major risk to young people in its care.

One of the largest private providers of emergency accommodation over the last two years has been Ideal Care Services. It is owned by Jossy Akwuobi, (45), from Tyrrelstown, Dublin, who is a pastor with the Wisdom Christian Centre, an evangelical group based in west Dublin.

Tusla paid Ideal Care โ‚ฌ4.5 million in 2022, making it the third highest paid provider of special emergency arrangements that year

An internal Tusla report found Garda vetting files clearing staff to work for the company had been altered, while pre-employment checks of workers had been โ€œfabricatedโ€.

Tusla inspectors said there was โ€œclear evidenceโ€ that Garda vetting declarations โ€œhad been altered post-issueโ€.

Speaking generally an inside source said they had seen children housed in seriously substandard accommodation, run by inexperienced staff. โ€œI was worried. It was getting worse and worseโ€ฆThatโ€™s what concerned me.โ€

Political interference on Tiktok:

Tiktok has removed this video campaigning for a No result in the upcoming referendum on changing the definition of family in the constitution on the grounds that it violates their "hate" policies.

The video shows a clip of Neale Richmond TD suggesting that the government understands that a Yes result will expand the scope of the family reunification scheme for migrants.

Minister David Stanton told the Dรกil in 2015 that prior to the government limiting the scope of the scheme that year, the average number of family members each refugee brought to Ireland was 20 and the highest was 70, as refugees had been allowed to bring in grandparents, children over 18, siblings, nephews & nieces.

NGOs have been campaigning since 2015 to re-expand the scope of the scheme. Campaigners for a No result have argued that changing the definition of family in the constitution to "durable relationship" will give them an means to accomplish this.

The video is still available on X and Telegram.

The X account @dubslife1 says they received a notice advising them that X received a take-down request from "Irish Law Enforcement" for some video the account uploaded of a garda pepper spraying and then batoning a man in a shop in Palmerstown.

X says they have refused to comply with the request which claimed the video had violated Irish law. The video can still be viewed on X in Ireland and has racked up 608K views.

In the wake of the turmoil in Dublin last November after an Algerian refugee was alleged to have attacked a number of children and their minder with a knife, Garda Commissioner Drew Harris OBE said he would be providing gardaรญ with higher strength pepper spray. It is unknown if this variety was used on the man in the shop.

The Irish Council for Civil Liberties, who have previously highlighted issues around excessive force in the use of pepper spray, has so far issued no public comment about the video.

They're desperately trying to scapegoat the Greens ahead of the elections in the hope they can rinse and repeat with a different third party next government.

The plan is to import 500k foreigners by 2040. That hasn't changed.
