Ross Lake Fire Reaction
Galway Bay FM
Fianna Fáil councillors Noel Thomas and Séamus Walsh speaking to Galway Bay FM this morning about the Ross Lake House fire on Saturday.

Séamus Walsh, who described himself as a disgruntled member of Fianna Fáil, said he might be put out of the party soon.

"We're getting phone calls last night from senior politicians asking us to come out against it and come out against our own people to keep well in with the party. Not happening!"

He also took issue with Green Party policies which have prevented work going ahead in the area.

"Every single thing we tried to do with Galway County Council over the last four years, Green party policies prevented it, and all the time in the council we're putting up with this crap, and now a Green minister comes along, and because he's feeling a bit of pressure from international forces and he wants to be jildy with them, he goes and shoves them [asylum seekers] in on top of us. No way, not happening!"

A redditor says social welfare staff are unofficially instructed to provide real PPS numbers to illegals when caught out under the 'Coming Clean Policy'.

>The document states where a person who entered the country illegally, and unlawfully obtained a PPSN and/or induced social welfare payments under a false identity, DSP will "regularise" the individual and grant them a new PPSN under their real identity - as they are "coming clean".

>You then had people whose whole story was a lie and they took, took, took from this State and left with an Irish passport in their pocket when we did catch them. Plus the vast majority have already lived, worked and had permission in another EU State or the UK.

This would explain why there are reports that Judge Desmond Zaidan is constantly annoyed by the number of illegals before him charged with possession of fake documents whom he learns in the meantime had been subsequently provided real work permits.

"The carry on of people around this country who are buying these buildings and warehousing people into them... The people below in Tralee and above in Leixlip and even in Shanballymore can go around playing the big hard men, talking about the big bucks they're making. But they'd want to realise the damage they're doing to these towns. They're worse than the English landlords of decades ago. Their behaviour is as bad as any drug cartel.

"We've seen the carry on of some of these people here over the last few months across the country, but particularly here in Fermoy. Shame on them. Yes, Government has a lot to answer for, but these people are the biggest traitors out of everyone the way they're selling out communities, and it's easy for them to sit away wherever they are and not give a shite about the people of Fermoy."

-Cllr William O'Leary (FF).

Marek & Lubomir Puska, the two brothers of Jozef Puska, along with his partner Lucia Istokova, have been sent forward for trial on charges of withholding information into the murder of Ashling Murphy.

The brothers' partners Jozefina Grundzova and Viera Gazoiva have also been charged with impeding the apprehension or prosecution of Jozef Puska while knowing or believing that he was guilty of the murder of Ashling Murphy, or of some other arrestable offence, contrary to Sections 7 and 4 of the Criminal Law Act.

Applications were made by their solicitor, David Powderly, for legal aid and a continuation of their bail conditions. He also requested that a previous restriction on reporting the addresses of the five accused be continued.

All five accused arrived at and left Tullamore courthouse in a black people-carrier taxi using a side door of the court while running and trying to conceal their faces (video here).

The Burning of The Big Houses.

"The people who owned the houses and the vast amount of land which they stood on, traditionally opposed the republican ideal and many of them often wielded considerable power in the Dublin Castle administration which oversaw the running of the country."

"One can possibly understand and accept the motivation of those who carried out the destruction of the houses at a time when views and opinions across the country were very much inflamed."

Cormac Lucey: "There is systematic abuse [of the asylum system] and the authorities have been gruesomely negligent in failing to deal with it... There are pitiful few deportations and the State should not be a soft touch, but it has been a soft touch at every corner."

Ciara Doherty attempts to challenge his remarks on the grounds that someone might still be entitled to asylum though their country of origin might be considered safe. It’s an argument made by people who either choose to be uninformed or are deliberately concealing the facts about refugee acceptance rates.

🔹In 2018, 3% of Georgians were granted refugee status as were 5% of Nigerians when they both featured in the list of top five countries of origin.

🔹In 2017, not one Georgian, Nigerian or Algerian was granted refugee status when they all featured in the top ten.

🔹 The top three groups seeking asylum last year were Georgians, Algerians and Nigerians (who've been allowed to game the system for the past 25 years).

"If you're going to have leaders in this country, it is their legal obligation to look after our country first. That's what their legal obligation should be, and they should step up to the plate and they should stop what is happening because it is inhumane... To be honest with you, I think I am much more entitled to my place in the Fianna Fáil party than the likes of Micheál Martin is."
