Rosslare locals are to begin picketing all entrances to the old Great Southern Hotel site from today and plans are in place to peacefully disrupt the flow of traffic in and out of Rosslare Port on Saturday afternoon.
The escalation comes after Minister Roderic O’Gorman told the residents last night that he "will not and cannot walk away" from offers of property which can be used for accommodating so-called refugees.
However, he also admitted that no contracts have been signed with the property owners as yet.

Asylum Racket
Tipp FM
For a taste of the mood among Tipp FM listeners regarding the asylum system, here are the arguments raised by a local man (who's done his own research) on Monday's live morning show.
🔹 Asylum seekers mostly 'young Third World men who sponge off the State' & bring their prejudices with them causing divisions.
🔹 Arrive in Dublin Airport and flush their passports down the toilet.
🔹 Bring in disease.
🔹 Some pretending to be from Ukraine.
🔹 Largest number from Georgia whose ambassador says they're fake.
🔹 Politicians facilitate asylum fraud for jobs in the EU or UN.
🔹 Property owners creaming it.
🔹 Roderic O'Gorman's White Paper caused an increase in asylum fraud.
🔹 Govt not representing the will of the people.
🔹 Helen McEntee not deporting criminals.
🔹 Asylum seekers allowed to vote to rig elections.
🔹 Muslim countries don't give citizenships to foreign workers; deport entire families on retirement.
🔹 They won't accept refugees. Pakistan is deporting Afghans.

Josef Puska described as "an insignificant lowest of the low waste of life" and "the epitome of all evil" in Ashling Murphy's boyfriend's impact statement at Puska's sentencing today.
🔗 x.com
I feel like this country is no longer the country Ashling and I grew up in and has officially lost its innocence. This country needs to wake up. This time things have got to change. We don't want to see any other family to have to go through what we have gone through. This country is simply not safe anymore. I'm afraid our country is heading down a very dangerous path.

Life sentence for Jozef Puska.
Judge Hunt remarked that it's long time judges imposing life sentences should have a say in setting a minimal term and he would consider a whole life sentence were that available to him.
The average life sentence is 19 years in Ireland. Parole is offered first after 12 years and then every 2 years after.
It's expected that Puska will not be transferred to a Slovakian prison and will be locked up in the C base of Mountjoy Prison along with Yousef Palani where he will be confined for almost 24 hours a day for fear he will be attacked by other inmates.

Assault charge against rejected asylum seeker Ellie Kisyombe thrown out.
Kisyombe had been charged with assaulting Svitlana Voloshchuk, a 46-year-old Ukrainian mother of three who works in the Balseskin asylum reception centre, in February 2019.
A solicitor for the Director of Public Prosecutions told Judge Walsh that he was applying to have the coordinating garda in the case replaced so witnesses could be secured to attend a trial. He said the original garda on the case had left the force but he was not necessary for it to continue.
Kisyombe's barrister subsequently appealed for the case to be struck out which Judge Walsh granted.
Lucky for some...
Ms Voloshchuk said her experience of the Irish justice system was a bad one.
She's not the only one.
Refugee rights campaigner Kisyombe has been back to Malawi twice on holiday since being granted Leave To Remain after repeatedly failing her asylum bid while appealing it for ten years. She won 'Women's Way Mum of the Year' in 2022.

Roscrea community meeting to take place this evening at 7:30 in the Muintir na Tíre Hall.
🔗 tipperarylive.ie
The depletion of Garda resources in Roscrea and dissatisfaction with Roscrea Garda Station's opening hours, rising anti-social behaviour and overburdening the town's essential services due to the sudden dramatic influx of asylum seekers are the main focus of the meeting.
Mr. Russell said local people feel Roscrea is once again neglected and that because Garda resources are overstretched, crime rates are spiraling and the community are fearful about the future.

The dirt are calling Ashling Murphy's boyfriend racist for questioning how Jozef Puska was able to move to Ireland and get social housing & welfare without ever holding a job or contributing to society for 10 years before murdering his girlfriend who was just out for a jog on the canal after work.
It doesn't surprise me that Tony Groves, who supports open borders and assaulting his political opponents, liked the tweet.

Ryan Casey Impact Statement
The Trial: Ashling Murphy
Ryan Casey's full impact statement at Jozef Puska's sentencing:
"It just doesn't make any sense to me how somebody who is just so insignificant, worthless, lowest of the low, burden to society, and overall a waste of life can completely and permanently destroy so many people's lives by taking the life of a person who is the complete opposite...a person who contributed to society in the best ways possible.
"It just sickens me to the core that someone can come to this country, be fully supported in terms of social housing, social welfare, and free medical care for over ten years, never hold down a legitimate job and never once contribute to society in any way, shape, or form, can commit such a horrendous evil act...
"I feel like this country is no longer the country that Ashling and I grew up in and has officially lost its innocence when a crime of this magnitude can be perpetrated in broad daylight. This country has to wake up. This time, things have to change"

Around 1,000 protesters blockaded Rosslare Europort today in opposition to any government plans to accommodate up to 400 male asylum seekers at the former Great Southern Hotel. The property was originally set to become a nursing home.
Independent councillor Ger Carthy said that today's protest will carry on for as long as it takes to change the government’s mind. 300 male asylum seekers are already being accommodated in the area which local reps say is at saturation point.
However, Sinn Fein TD David Cullinane told RTÉ that he was uncomfortable with protests of this nature and blamed the government for not building large-scale specialised accommodation for asylum seekers fast enough despite promises in the White Paper.
The top three countries of origin for asylum seekers in Ireland are Georgia, Nigeria and Algeria. Between 95% and 100% of their asylum applications are typically rejected annually, but deportation rates for failed applicants are minimal.

Little remembered WW2 history: In 1940, the UK rounded up into internment camps civilian males of German & Italian origin between ages 16 & 60 as ‘enemy aliens’ after Churchill demanded police “collar the lot.”
It was then decided to ship a reluctant contingent off to Canada on the Arandora Star for detainment there. The ocean liner had been successfully trialling anti-torpedo defences (skirts of iron mesh hung off booms), but these had been removed by the time she departed Liverpool with the detainees on July 1st, 1940.
The following morning, roughly half the 1,673 men on board would be dead when she was sunk by a German U-boat off the Donegal coast, many trapped below decks ringed with barbed wire.
46 German bodies from the grim calamity would wash up on Irish shores to ultimately find rest at a small serene cemetery tucked into an old granite quarry by a mountain stream in Glencree.
Stan O'Brien composed their epitaph:
Passion and pain
Were my loss—my gain:
Pray, as you pass
To make Good my loss.
