A redditor suspects a high profile refugee transporter wanted to lodge a Ukrainian mother & child in his parents' apartment so he could have an affair with her.

"Upon hindsight, it's painfully clear to me that he was so eager to get them into comfortable accommodation close to his own house so he can get the ride."

Helen McEntee has promised not to deport illegals if they are victims of human trafficking. Instead, dedicated accommodation will be provided to them. Organisations other than gardaí will also now be allowed to identify potential victims into a national referral mechanism.

>The first accommodation has been identified and is being developed, she said, but obviously it will not be enough to accommodate everyone.

According to the US State Department, the Irish government has never convicted a human trafficker, but you can expect the numbers of their 'victims' to increase.

500 people turned out for the local community meeting to oppose homeless accommodation being used to house asylum seekers in Cashel.

Fianna Fáil TD Jackie Cahill says the decision to house asylum seekers at a homeless hostel in Cashel is being reviewed after a public meeting heard that locals were prepared to blockade Johns Street in the town to prevent it happening.

Speaking to Tipp FM in Cashel this morning local business woman Alison de Vere Hunt said there is already a sense of fear among the local community.

“People are ready to stand and barricade the end of John Street and the top of John Street and Agars Lane because people are afraid if these men come in there’s no getting them out. It’s prevention rather than cure is I see what’s on a lot of people’s minds.”

In July, a Ukrainian man who had been living and working in Canada wanted to move to Ireland and was searching for accommodation providers who would accept the €800 monthly rent allowance which the Irish government provides to people willing to house Ukrainians here. He arrived here in September.

Ukraine in the EU
Irish Farmer
An Irish farmer shares his thoughts on war being wound down in Ukraine and what it will mean for European farmers for Ukraine to join the EU:

💬 They will be entitled to various subsidies, payments, grants etc, and they reckon it will reduce payments to European farmers by an average of 30 per cent — the pot isn't getting bigger to take them in, it's going to just be spread more.

💬 Who are these Ukrainian farmers? It turns out they're all massive corporations...and last year Zelenskyy sold one third of the country, which he equated to about the landmass of Italy, to Carlyle Group, BlackRock and Bayer (formerly Monsanto). That's who we're going to be paying subsidies to. They have to get their money back.

💬 I don't think Russia will give two fucks about Ukraine joining the EU especially as he knows it's going to weaken us and hit farmers on the ground hard.

🚨 Community Alert for Co. Clare

A Clare father says there was an attempted child abduction made on his 13-year-old daughter in Shannon last Thursday when groups of foreign men, who were driving around the town in a convoy of three cars, tried to grab her into one of them.

Their exact words to her, he says, were "get the F— into the car now!"

The teenager panicked and ran, managing to escape through a gap in a hedge into her friend's house whose mother drove her home safely.

The boxer, originally from Limerick, said he's very frustrated with the gardaí who he believes have done absolutely nothing to address the incident except harass him about taking down facebook posts he previously made about the matter.

One of the cars the men were driving was a white VW Passat. Another was a black Audi A4. He has a photo of one of the registration plates and one of the suspects when they stopped at the Texaco service station.

Kerry councillors beg Roderic O'Gorman not to send 70 more asylum seekers to Killarney, but Cathaoirleach Cllr Brendan Cronin says it appears unlikely he will reverse the decision.

"We are at capacity health-wise, GP-wise and education-wise and if the Minister and IPAS continue, they will cause chaos. GP’s can't take on families who live here and have bought a house here. We are bursting at the seams,” he said.

He said that ‘some onus’ must be put on property owners and IPAS to check if there are suitable services for asylum seekers before they are sent to a town.

Local GP Dr Gary Stack has also confirmed that the asylum seekers may have trouble sourcing a GP as they already can't cope with the workload.

Serious concerns have also been raised about the impact on the tourism industry.

'People do not feel safe on the streets in Roscrea.'

The dramatic influx of of asylum seekers in Roscrea has eroded the sense of security in the town, Deputy Michael Lowry has warned the Dáil.

The numbers are totally disproportionate to the local population. The vital services in the town cannot cope and are stretched way beyond capacity"

By degrees, the lives of local people have been changed. Reoccurring incidents have eroded the sense of security in the town. People do not feel safe on the streets. Parents are fearful of allowing their teenagers out after dark. Families and older people have had to increase security in their homes

The independent TD for Tipperary, who resigned from Fine Gael in 1996 over corruption later investigated by the Moriarty Tribunal, emphasised that in Roscrea, the Garda Station remains closed at night, which is exacerbating the public sense of vulnerability.

Cashel Plantation
Tipp FM
Just to give a sense of the opposition on the ground in Cashel to 74 asylum seekers being dumped in a hostel, here are two of the locals Tipp FM interviewed on the street on Monday. They don't hold back yet still do the 'I'm not racist' bit.

Our country is being destroyed up and down the country. We are the next Sweden if we don't get our act together very quickly.

Some of these people are coming from countries where they have no respect about women or girls in particular and that has been expressed to me by women in this town. There's a palatable terror here.

Cashel was successful in getting this plan shut down because 500 people came out immediately to organise against it due to a strong sense of community. Towns without get railroaded. They've heard the horror stories from around the country and shared them.

They also had a sympathetic local media who gave them a whole hour on the morning show.

It's also clear a lot of politicians are worried about the elections coming up.

Jozef Puska found guilty of the murder of Ashling Murphy.

The 33-year-old father of five, originally from the small village of Lučivná beneath the Tatras in the Poprad district in Slovakia, arrived in Ireland in 2013 where he was provided a home in Muchlagh and €200 a week in disability allowance. He said he originally lived in Dublin 1, moving to Tullamore in 2015.

Puska told the court that he had previously lived in Bratislava for about 3 years and then 5 years in the Czech Republic where he worked 'all over Prague on building sites'. Then "somehow I came here."

Asked then about his back problems, he said he thought they began sometime in 2017. No medical records were presented but he told the court he had worked until he had 'the accident' and subsequently started receiving a 'pension'. He said he developed the back problems from 'lifting heavy things' — "One day I couldn't stand up. I had a slipped disc."

The mayor of Lučivná, Monika Kičáková, told Slovakian reporters that the family moved out of their village 20 years ago. She knew Jozef's father as she went to school with him and promised to give a statement after the trial. According to Councillor Jozef Fronc, the Roma community all lived more or less separately on the outskirts of the village.

The reporters did not learn anything about Jozef from his old school. One teacher they met knew about the murder, but didn't know Jozef. "Most of the teachers have been here since 2019, we don't have any who could remember him from the time when he attended the school," she shrugged.

The local Roma did not want to speak much about 'Jožko' Puska, as they called him, but one older man told reporters: "Jožko is a very good boy, we don't believe he would do something like that. He is from a decent family. He has three brothers and all of them, including their parents, gradually moved to Ireland. They went there to find a better life, because here you can't live decently when you don't have a job. They don't make distinctions there."

The European Commission have estimated 37,500 Roma now live in Ireland.

The man refused to show the reporters the house where the family lived but a woman standing nearby discreetly pointed to an old village house. It looked as if someone lived in it. "Neighbors take care of the houses of those who are abroad and make sure that no one steals them, sets them on fire or moves in," Mrs. Helena told them.

The two men outside a local store didn't want to talk at first, but then one of them who asked to remain anonymous remarked: "Jožo was a classmate of mine. He was no innocent, such a weirdo, but aggressive, he sometimes had a fight with Roma people, but also with whites. He even had a low grade for behavior. I wouldn't want to get a load from them!"

He pointed towards the edge of the village, where the Roma lived.

One of houses was confirmed by passers-by and neighbors to be belonging to the Puskas. "They are in Ireland, no one is home," said one neighbor. "Yes, they all used to live here. It's been about five years since they moved to Ireland, I don't know more," said distant relative Paulína Kokiová.

"I didn't know who it was until this morning when my father told me that it was the person in question," added the neighbor. Relatives of Jozef also lived near the house. "I'm a cousin. He was a great person," said one, but he did not want to answer any more questions.

Though Jozef Puska had been able to organise disability allowance for himself as a result of a 'back problems' in Ireland, he told the court that he never went to seek help for any memory problems he believed he might be suffering from, despite all the Roma-specific healthcare initiatives laid out by the Irish government like The Roma Wellbeing and Integration Project, Cairde's National Roma Infoline, and Crosscare's Roma Community Support service.

He suggested these memory problems may have contributed to him not remembering that he confessed to gardaí who interviewed him in hospital that he was responsible for murdering Ashling Murphy.

Jozef Puska was suspected to have threatened to take his own life last Tuesday evening in Dublin's Cloverhill prison - but prison officers stepped in immediately and prevented any action.

Puska was then assessed and said that he wanted to be present in court the next day.

He then arrived in court on Thursday and ultimately began to give testimony in his own defence on the witness stand.

When the jury were not in the room Mr Justice Hunt warned the defence that he did not want any more “self induced excuses” from the accused.
