A local woman tells Niall Boylan about the incident in Athlone on November 1st where a naked and bloody man could be seen being batoned by gardaí in the yard of St Mary's Primary School in footage which spread widely on social media.

The clip received 650k views on X alone but was not picked up by legacy media.

Sandra told Boylan that the man had previously put his head through a shop window after staff had asked him to leave because he had made them feel uncomfortable.

He then walked through Athlone town, bleeding from his neck until he reached St Mary's. The school had a Halloween camp for kids taking place.

The man subsequently broke into a classroom leaving blood all over the floor. He then went out into the yard and took off all his clothes.

Midlands103 reports the man has since been taken to hospital for treatment.
