First garda at the scene of Ashling Murphy's murder:
>He says he could see "holes, puncture wounds under her neck."... "I could see 4 or 5". But he said there was "so much blood, it was impossible to see," much more.
>There was a phone in her jacket pocket and keys to a Seat car, he said. "And a necklace around her neck which just had the word 'Ashling' on it."

Judge Desmond Zaidan has called the State "a joke" during a case against the proprietor of a Chinese takeaway in Athy who employed a Chinese worker without a work permit, after the judge learned the Dept. of Enterprise subsequently gave him one.
"You're a joke. You prosecute him, and then give him permission to stay until 2025? You're a joke," he said.
"It's laughable for whoever's in charge, and it will come back to bite you in the future."
"He broke the law twice, and you guys are making a mockery of these laws. Seriously guys, I know it's not your fault, you're just the face of the Department, but this is farcical."
The judge struck out the charge.
Judge Desmond Zaidan has previously blasted the State for "making a mockery of the system" when he discovered they were granting work permits to illegals who were before him charged with faking documents. He said false French documentation is rampant in the system.

Over 100 locals packed into Burke's Bar last night for a meeting organised to discuss their opposition to the relocation of 98 asylum seekers to Coole Court, a 12 apartment development in a renovated section of the former St Joseph's Orthopaedic Hospital in Coole.
A spokesperson told the Westmeath Examiner that people are concerned that the village doesn't have the sewerage, educational or health infrastructure to cope with almost 100 new residents and that some parents are concerned about child safeguarding.
โNo planning permission was needed to build the apartments. We can't build a house, but we can build a refugee centre.โ
โNo one in the community can get a doctor's appointment, you have to wait two or three weeks.
โWe would like to know what nationality the people are. We are concerned about what their mental health will be like. These people will have no jobs, no money and there's not a lot to do around Coole.โ

Settlers and indigenous rights activists clashed in Waterford today.
Campaigner Ferg Power said gardaรญ allowed their rally to be surrounded more than once, and that they were spat at, goaded and threatened while being called 'Nazi and fascist scum'.
He said the settlers were accompanied by members of People Before Profit who have previously expressed support for open borders in a party manifesto.
"We stood our ground as we always do, but I'm telling you here and now, people need to get up of their arses and start putting in the effort and fighting for this country, our home and all our innocent children's futures."
"The only rights that are under attack are ours, the people that own this land."

Apparently late night flights from Ethiopia have been met by Garda escorted buses with blacked out windows, directly on the runway at Dublin airport.
Staff aren't allowed near the planes and no luggage has come off.
This has happened several times a week in recent weeks.

>Gardaรญ are becoming increasingly concerned that radical extremists in Ireland are infiltrating small โunregulatedโ Muslim prayer houses that have sprung up since the Covid pandemic.
>Senior security sources say there could be up to 100 such groupings in the greater Dublin and Leinster area alone, with more scattered around the country.
>A senior officer described them as โunregulatedโ, with many having no connection to the established mosques. The source added: โWeโre really just looking into the dark when it comes to the smaller groups. There are extremists, who are transient and who use Ireland as a transit point, a back door into Britain. It is these individuals who are a cause of concern, not the ordinary law-abiding Muslim faithful.โ
