A Blackrock resident has said he was blessed that his children were not playing outside and that nobody was hurt when part of the roof of the Frascati House in Blackrock collapsed this morning, sending rubble and debris onto the street below.
David Doolan said he could feel it under his feet like a bomb going off and when he looked out the door, he compared the scene to 9/11, with dust everywhere.
The 5 storey office block is suspected of being renovated to accommodate asylum seekers on behalf of Peppard Investments LTD, although there has been no official confirmation or consultation with locals.
Last April, the Department of Equality admitted there had been initial engagements with people offering the use of Frascati House to accommodate Ukrainians or international protection applicants, but a representative of Knight Frank estate agent who were advertising the building for lease claimed its client had not offered it to any department.

A Clondalkin mother says her son was walking his dog in Collinstown Park when he heard a young girl shouting in distress.
When the boy investigated the commotion, he allegedly discovered a foreign man pulling on a young girl and telling her that she was going home with him.
He said the girl looked absolutely terrified but managed to flee through a gap into the Wheatfield housing estate when he confronted the man.
The boy took some video footage of the encounter and another local parent identified the man as being allegedly responsible for following two other children home after hiding behind a van in the area. He had also allegedly been spotted drinking vodka in the park.

Don't know the provenance but it's a convincing forgery if it's fake.
Some weeks back there was an allegation that Ukrainian men were spotted being forced onto a bus in Ireland for extradition, but the promised footage never materialised.
Today, I'm reading both the Austrian and Czech governments say they won't be submitting to any extradition requests from the Ukrainian government, so they must believe they have that option.
It would be curious if any EU countries do send Ukrainian men back as Syrians have received refugee status here on the grounds that they want to avoid conscription.
Personally, I'm opposed to extraditing the men as they shouldn't be forced to be fresh meat for the grinder, and the sooner their supply is exhausted, the sooner negotiations can commence.
However, once the war ends, one of the conditions to receive any EU aid must be that none of these men face charges for desertion. Otherwise, they'll have an excuse to be here forever.

Just spotted this at the end.
My best guess is that the Irish government is aware that 'Republic of Ireland' is the name of a football team and not the name of the country they administer, so I have to suspect this is a forgery of possible foreign origin.
