Gavin Pepper, who was banned on twitter yesterday, chatting with some of the Iceland staff in Coolock who are occupying the store after all being laid off without warning this morning. The only way to remove the workers is through a court order.
The supermarket chain sold all of its 27 Irish stores last February, and they are now owned and operated by Metron Stores Limited which has said it is insolvent and unable to pay debts totalling €36m after the Food Safety Authority of Ireland ordered them to withdraw all imported frozen food of animal origin from its stores.
The products in question were imported from the UK but require veterinary certification from within the EU, the company were told.

🚨 Community Alert for Ballymun
Parents in a Ballymun community facebook group have been advised to be on alert after an African man who was suspected of video recording children was spotted outside the Virgin Mary Girls National School today.
One local woman, who said she approached the man nervously as he appeared to be intoxicated, said the man put his phone back into his pocket when she confronted him.
She asked him whether he had children in the school and he replied that he didn't. He told her that he lived in a local hotel.
When asked why he was recording school girls and requested to stop the activity, the woman says that the man refused as he said he didn't have to.
A teacher in the school has been informed.

Chilimbar Vasile (57), a father-of-eleven who has been jailed for three years for laundering €228,000 through an AIB bank account, was discovered to have received €164,000 in State rent allowance while living in Ireland on top of his €455 weekly disability allowance.
He had prior convictions for stealing from charity collection boxes in two churches in Waterford and Cork and has no employment history in the country.

Nobody's said a word. It would just make it worse for them if they did, and he says nobody he knows in Fianna Fáil or any party disagrees with him, privately.

🚨 Community Alert for Belmayne in Dublin 13
Parents of children attending the Belmayne Educate Together National School are being advised that there have been two suspected attempted child abductions in the area in recent days.
In the first instance, on Tuesday, June 20th, at around 4pm, a child was approached by a man in a black van who told the child to 'jump' into his van and that he would give him a lift. The child fled as quickly as they could to where they knew friends were located.
In the second instance, on Thursday, June 22nd, a child at the local playground was approached by an elderly woman carrying lollipops who tried to coax a child into a white van.
No descriptions of the suspects have been provided.

Romanian man Valentin Rada is to stand trial for alleged human trafficking, managing a brothel and controlling prostitution in Belfast as part of an investigation into a suspected crime gang involved in the sexual exploitation of vulnerable women between January 2016 and June 2021.
Rada allegedly boasted that he "lives like a lord" in Northern Ireland, the High Court has heard.
Prosecutors also claimed Valentin Rada (34) was secretly recorded telling an associate that he disfigured a woman by beating her to a pulp.
He was detained with another man on June 16 as part of a joint operation between the PSNI and Romanian authorities.
Nine other suspects were arrested during searches carried out at the same time in Romania.

South East Radio talks to Fionntán Ó Súilleabháin, the Sinn Féin councillor for Gorey-Kilmuckridge who made some remarks critical of the refugee racket recently, calling the govt's immigration policies a cash cow.
To sum up his criticism:
🔹 The asylum system is an attractive get-rich-quick industry for speculators & developers.
🔹No local consultation on decisions imposed by Dublin.
🔹The public are emotionally blackmailed into silence with language around 'refugees' orchestrated by powerful and well-funded NGOs when it's clear many are chancers taking advantage of a lax system.
🔹The need for a broader discussion on the entire immigration system — If there's a labour shortage, we should be trying to attract Irish people home.
As with Cllr Noel Thomas recently, the interview wasn't hostile and there's been no backlash from his party or the NGO sector about his remarks — just silence. With local elections next year, I think there's a growing fear parties are now exposed on immigration.
