π¨ Child abduction attempt in the Louth/Meath area
Virgin Media News has learned that there was a child abduction attempt made last month when a man pretending to be from the HSE's Home Support Services called to a home and told a parent that he needed to collect their child for an 'out of home support provision'. When the man was unable to provide ID, he left.
The incident was reported to the Garda and Tusla. The HSE is advising parents to report any suspicious activity or calls.
VM News say they could not follow up on the investigation with the Garda as the HSE will not tell them the location of the attempted abduction, only that it occurred in the Louth/Meath area.
The matter came to light when some parents, who use the Home Support Services, received a letter warning them about the incident and then contacted Virgin Media news to query it.
The HSE has suffered two cyberattacks in the last three years in which over 100,000 people had their personal data stolen.

A judge has refused to order the arrest of 53 asylum seekers which a communist organisation are using to occupy James Mac Sweeney House at 10 Berkeley Street in Phibsborough.
This, he said, was due to a lack of evidence before the court about the identities of the persons on the property.
He was not satisfied that all of those alleged to be in occupation have been made aware of the orders to vacate the premises previously made by the court.
Additional efforts must be made to ascertain the identities of those on the property, and that they be properly served with the proceedings before the orders sought could be granted, he said.
Gonna be tricky if they're undocumented...
The self-styled 'Revolutionary Housing League' began squatting at the property, which is being redeveloped by a charitable housing association to accommodate the elderly, on May 12th, the day their shanty town was cleared out by concerned locals on Sandwith Street.

The high level of welfare Ireland provides to people from Ukraine compared to other EU member states is acting as a magnet says Independent TD Marc MacSharry.
Responding to recent proposals to turn student accommodation in Sligo into housing for so-called refugees, The SligoβLeitrim TD, who quit Fianna FΓ‘il in 2021, told Pat Kenny on Newstalk today that the situation is simply unsustainable.
"We are in effect marketing the country as the best place to come for international protection. Because of the level of supports available here, we're the first choice for many, and why wouldn't we be? And all I'm saying is, that's unsustainable...I mean they're calling it Treasure Island."

π¨ Community Alert for Kenmare
Derek Blighe says he has been made aware a report that an 11-year-old girl was approached in the Kenmare area by what she described as a foreign man in a car who told her that her mother had sent him to collect her. The girl didn't believe him and ran off.
GardaΓ were contacted about the attempted child abduction and allegedly told the girl's parents "sure we don't know who's been let into the country."
Derek says he's had difficulty uploading this video to his telegram channel so I've posted it here.

On May 14th of this year, the Zimbabwe media warned us that a triple murderer called Peter Dube had fled their country to South Africa, changed his identity and then flew to Ireland to claim asylum. The even told us where the Irish govt had accommodated him β The Red Cow Hotel in Dublin.
Two days later, we were told gardaΓ had searched the Red Cow and were satisfied he wasn't there. They said they had found zero evidence he was even in Ireland.
βWe are happy he is not at the facility named in the media and we have found zero evidence that he is here at all. Inquiries are continuing, but at this stage there is nothing to suggest he is in Ireland.β
Today, one month later, we learn he was at the Red Cow all along.
I'm old enough to remember when Kevin Magee was making light of peoples concerns about unvetted, undocumented asylum seekers because he said their fingerprints and photographs are checked against Europe's largest computer system for public security.
How's that working out, Kevin?

The halcyon days of *checks notes* ten years ago when a senior Fianna FΓ‘il councillor called the government anti-Irish and unapologetically advocated for an Irish-first housing policy because he said non-nationals were getting housed as soon as they βbreezedβ into the country while Irish people seeking social housing were being told to βgo home to mammyβ.
