Turns out the guy who was attacking concerned locals with a spiked railing on Sandwith Street is wanted in Turkey on terrorism charges.
In 1996, he was convicted of committing criminal acts aimed at implementing a Marxist-Leninist regime using armed force. He originally got the death penalty, but it was reduced to 20 years.
He escaped from prison while on a hospital visit and eventually ended up in Sweden where he was granted asylum.
Turkey demanded his extradition but Sweden refused saying his crimes were political. Turkey said he had set fire to public buildings and a car, committed a bank robbery, wounded a guard and trapped a taxi driver in the boot of his cab.
Sweden still refused. Next he married a Pole and moved to Poland. Again, Turkey demanded his extradition, but Poland again refused.
Now he's in Ireland hanging out with open borders dirt and was one of their squatters in Lefroy House last year.

Earlier, some local mothers spoke to Gavin Pepper about their concerns over the squat off Sandwith Street.
They said their children feared playing outside or walking the dogs after locals had been abused by the men at the camp. One local man had his glasses smashed last night.
"You don't feel safe in your own neighbourhood. We feel like we're foreigners. This is our bleedin' country and we should be able to walk up here. I'm from this area all me life."
"It's not even Ukrainian women or kids. It's all men. We don't need any more men."
They believe if their children or some homeless Irish people had set the squat up, it would have been dismantled by Dublin City Council immediately.
