The family of a woman who says she endured a terrifying sexual assault in Dungarvan late Saturday night, say they are angry and upset that gardaí asked them to take down a social media post informing others that foreigners had been involved.

One family member told Gript that concerns about identifying the attackers as non-Irish seemed to be more important to gardaí than ensuring that other females were aware that they may be in danger.

The post had reported that some time after midnight last Saturday, the woman was coming home from a pub past Dealz in Dungarvan when four adult foreign males pulled her into an alleyway, removed her belt and pulled her pants and underwear down to her ankles.

As she begged them to stop, a woman in a nearby house heard the screaming and ran to her assistance. The post says the men subsequently attacked this woman but she served as enough of a distraction to cause them to flee.

No arrests have been reported.

Just to return briefly to topic of the hoax news story that 50,000 people attended the NGO rally 'Ireland For All' on Saturday as some drone footage of the crowd has been published giving the best view of the crowd so far.

Using a still from the video I marked off the extent of the crowd on mapchecking.com again and they estimated 9,056 people would fit into the space with the density setting set to 'crowded' (2.5 people per square metre — last image shows what that looks like).

However, as the drone flies over the crowd you can see there are many sparse areas and it thins out considerably at the back so the real count would be fewer still.

You would need over five to six times the number of people shown on this video for it to be anywhere close to the claimed 50,000 people as reported by many media outlets including the Irish Times and RTÉ.

Locals gathered outside the Aughrim St Sports Centre in Stoneybatter this evening after word spread that an unconfirmed 150 male asylum seekers are to be accommodated in the sports hall at the instruction of Dublin City Council.

Smithfield Boxing Club, which is based at the sports centre, have tweeted that for the foreseeable future all members are to meet their coaches at the gates ten minutes before training and only enter and leave the centre in groups. Latecomers will not be allowed entry. Tonight's boxing class was also cancelled.

A protest is planned for tomorrow at 6PM.

15 Ukrainians were housed in the sports hall temporarily last October.
