Senator Michael McDowell, who as Justice Minister proposed the the widely popular anchor baby racket referendum in 2004, telling RTÉ that the problem with the asylum system is the huge number of bogus asylum seekers who are seldom deported.

He singles out Georgians & Albanians but Nigerians who have almost the same rejection rates (over 95% some years) are never mentioned. They've been allowed to abuse the system for 25 years which is why the Black Axe Mafia is now embedded here and blamed for scamming €Millions.

There's been misinfo floating around that Ireland has only a 5% rejection rate for asylum applications compared to 60% in other EU members states. I think its origin is a mistaken interpretation of this Eurostat graph.

One reason Ireland's rejection rate appears so low last year is due to Minister Helen McEntee's recent blanket amnesty for asylum seekers in the system over two years. That doesn't mean they were recognised as genuine refugees, only that the DoJ forfeited its duty to process them.

Newstalk now reporting on the story that almost 40% of the people applying for international protection here last year did not have valid travel documents (over 5,000).

Not mentioned in this report is the fact that people with refugee status elsewhere in Europe have been using temporary travel passes to get into Ireland in order to make fresh asylum claims, disposing of these travel passes on route.

Instead Newstalk are blaming "figures showing that 41% of the world’s refugees have no access to passports".

The narrative is slowly changing though. Nearly two weeks ago Senator Barry Ward was spreading misinformation on the Pat Kenny show claiming that only a tiny proportion of asylum seekers arriving here had no documentation. He had massaged the figures by including Ukrainians. I'll post the audio below.

At 3:40 — Senator Barry Ward (FG) spreading the misinformation that asylum applicants arriving in Ireland with no documentation are only a tiny proportion of the the total figure.

This is the same misinformation which IHREC's Sarah Gibney was allowed to spread on national radio, as Matt Treacy pointed out during the week.

Both of them are on the public payroll.

Pat Kenny also caused Irish Refugee Council head Nick Henderson to have a fit of stuttering, asking him about asylum fraud a couple of weeks back.

It's important to note that while the Irish Refugee Council are leaned on as experts on all matters asylum related by the media and government, that's not what they are.

Real experts would have been ringing alarm bells for the past 25 years and have multiple documents, studies and statistics outlining the massive amount of asylum fraud in the system. They have produced none.

They are a lobby group for de facto open-borders. They might call themselves an NGO, but a more fitting acronym would be NOG as they're Never Out of Government, and don't have to answer to voters.
