DUBLIN SAYS NO: Here is my report on the entire protest. Shelbourne Hotel saw both sides square up to each other in a tense scene. Organisers and locals then delivered remarks at the Mansion House, supported by Michael Leahy of the Irish Freedom Party who came all the way from Co. Clare.

On the way to block O'Connell Bridge, a confused girl screamed abuse at protesters on Westmoreland Street, giving them the middle finger. After blocking O'Connell Bridge for 10 minutes protesters were confronted by an open borders activist who verbally abused female protesters and tried to attack Malachy Steenson.

At the GPO, speakers delivered their final remarks and urged everyone to bring an extra person to the next protest.

Roderic O'Gorman deliberately avoids consulting communities when asylum seekers are going to be accommodated in their areas, a private Fine Gael parliamentary party meeting has heard.

We are often told the reason there's a lack of consultation is because the Dept of Equality is rushed off its feet and doesn't have the time. This is misinformation.

The last person I heard spreading this misinformation was the ISD's Ciarán O'Connor on the Niall Boylan show (audio below).

Wicklow Hotelier Adrian Shannagher has admitted, however, that when communities are consulted about direct provision centres being opened in their areas, those centres don't get opened as the plans are rejected by locals.

Ciarán O'Connor from the ISD spreading the misinformation that the lack of consultation with communities over asylum seekers being dumped in their areas is a result of the scramble to source accommodation for the huge numbers arriving.

However, Minister of State Josepha Madigan told a private Fine Gael meeting yesterday that lack of consultation is a deliberate choice on behalf of Minister Roderic O'Gorman.

Spare a thought for Zimbabwean man Zibusiso Moyo who fled war-torn Germany yesterday only to find no free accommodation on offer in Ireland.

In the first three weeks of January more than 870 non-Ukrainian asylum seekers have arrived in Ireland.

"There remains an acute shortfall with respect to accommodation for single males in particular. I trust this information relays the gravity of the situation my department faces."

How about deporting failed asylum seekers instead of promising them their own homes within 4 months and granting them amnesty when their applications are rejected?

Higher resolution footage of the #NewToTheParish who entered the Roselawn Health Centre in Blanchardstown yesterday and demanded cigarettes and money from the staff who he subsequently threatened to rape and murder when these demands were denied. One woman said she was terrified.

It was reported today that politicians are preparing to award themselves up to €5,000 towards the cost of installing new security systems for their own personal safety.

No such funding for your security though while they continue to welcome into Ireland filth from every corner of the globe at your expense who we are told will only enrich our communities.

Rumours circulating in Leixlip that one of the old big houses situated within the Ryevale Lawns housing estate could be set to help facilitate the new plantation, fittingly enough.

Ryevale House is potentially going to be getting all single males, but nobody know anything for sure. Some trees were felled on the grounds last week which raised initial suspicions.

Minister Roderic O'Gorman's Dept of Equality was contacted and told a councillor that while the house hadn't been approved yet, it was on a list after an application of interest in accommodating asylum seekers was submitted by the site owners.

Cllr. Nuala Killeen (Social Democrats) told KFM that she'll only hear if it gets approval once any contract is signed and that the local authorities don't get an opportunity to consult the community in any way, further putting the lie to the ISD's claims that the reason communities aren't consulted is because Minister O'Gorman's Department is just too busy.
