Foreign outsiders abuse Supervalu staff in Clonakilty, Cork.

Eugene Scally, the owner of Supervalu in Clonakilty has told Claire Byrne that foreign outsiders have been abusing his staff during the Covid-19 lockdown.

In a message posted last Friday on Facebook, the store said that it's "unfair and unacceptable" for anyone to take their frustrations out on their innocent workers who are just doing their jobs.

However, on the One O'Clock News show with Claire Byrne, Scally revealed that the small minority of people abusing his staff were foreigners who weren't known to the people of Clonakility prior to the lock down.

"We don't know those people, they're not local people, they're not Cork people, they're not Irish people. They're foreigners..."

Claire Byrne promptly shut that segment of the interview down urging Scally that "we can't prove any of that".
