Irish self-hatred knows no bounds or limits. It's not like Brit or Yankee self-hatred, where they hate the Empire or their invasions or plundering of nations - Irish liberals hate our heroes who fought for Ireland because they were Catholic and had a Martial Spirit of duty to the nation.

The world is very different now than it was when most parents were young. The internet has changed everything. Porn is endemic. The celebration of violent sexual activity has been normalised. Young people are having sex much younger than they used to.

Children realise they are transgender as 2 to 3-year-olds according to Trans Equality Network Ireland.
Their advisory document hosted on the website of Irish National Teachers' Organisation recommends teachers delivering "gender identity education" discuss surgeries, puberty blockers and hormone treatment.

Remember the plan to provide a free daily bus service from Kinnegad to Dublin for the asylum seekers which was championed by Cllr Denis Leonard and the steering committee as one of the solutions they'd negotiated for with the Dept of Equality? The thinking was it would mean less loitering around the town.
He's now claiming that the steering group have "continually highlighted their misgivings" about this plan as it would limit the town's ability to integrate the unvetted single men from Africa and the Middle East.
Ukrainians won't need the bus as their children are in the local school, you see. He definitely isn't racist, OKAY! ๐

Some details in the London Times about who owns Harry's Hotel in Kinnegad.
>Coldec Investments 2, which is controlled by Rickie Rogers, agreed in late June to acquire Sicuro Holdings, the owner of the hotel. Sicuro is owned by Ann and Niamh Collins.
>Accounts for Sicuro show that Coldec acquired an option to buy the company in January this year.
>The proposed transaction is being funded with loans from Rinawade Investments, also controlled by Rogers. In total, the businessman seems to be committing โฌ3 million to the proposed deal.
>Rogers is part of the management team that acquired Mercury Engineering from the OโKane family in a deal that valued the business at โฌ50 million.
>Mercury Engineering Holdings posted revenues of just over โฌ1 billion in 2020, and operating profits of โฌ62 million.
>Rogers is Mercuryโs chief operating officer.
If he's getting the full โฌ6,000 per room per month, there are 45 rooms so that's โฌ3,240,000 for the year, just over what he paid.

More than a thousand migrants who set sail across the Mediterranean from Libya and Tunisia arrived in Italy within a few hours two days ago on top of the 34,000 who have arrived so far this year.
They're coming from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sudan, Ethiopia and Somalia among other countries.
Italy needs drastic action.
Giorgia Meloni's Brothers of Italy party leads an alliance that includes Matteo Salviniโs Lega party and Silvio Berlusconiโs Forza Italia, which is tipped to win with a clear majority in elections this September.

Animal welfare activists are organising a protest on the 28th outside the home of a Fine Gael councillor in Clonmel who is getting a Jack Russell called Kim put down because it nipped her on the leg.
Kim belongs to an 85-year-old retired garda called Donal Rogers and has been described as his chief companion.
Supposedly Cllr Breid Greene is bit of a canine hit woman with two dead dogs to her name already. She's refused all offers of compensation and ignored the petition signed by 58,000 people begging for clemency.
I've blocked out her address in this screen grab and don't advise protesting outside her home. More effective to protest outside the local Fine Gael office and hand out leaflets explaining the story to passersby. Then leaflet every house in her electoral area. If 50 people show up to the protest, it's short work.

On this day in 1575, over 600 Scottish and Irish Gaels were massacred on Rathlin Island by an English force under Francis Drake and John Norreys. Of the 600, around 200 were surrendered soldiers. The rest were old men, women, children and the infirm, who were sent to the island for safety and hiding in the caves.
The Scots and Irish used Rathlin Island as a sanctuary due to its natural defenses of rocky shores, but also because it was respected as a place of refuge, having been associated historically with St. Columba.
Walter Devereux, Earl of Essex (pictured), ordered the killings and later boasted in a letter to Queen Elizabeth's secretary that the head of the MacDonnell clan, Sorley Boy MacDonnell, watched helplessly from the mainland as his entire family was slaughtered.
