Scallan did well here to coax an interview out of a window two storeys up in Harry's Hotel in #Kinnegad with a Somalian asylum seeker.

Earlier in the clip, you can hear one woman on the steering committee they set up to represent the community remark that she would be just as concerned about vetting the residents of the hotel if they were all Irish.

It's clearly a lie as Croatians had been long-term residing in the hotel prior to the arrival of the asylum seekers and nobody had requested their vetting. But this is her attempting to negotiate the application of the racist label to her concerns. It's wise to remember the power this smear still has over people when discussing the issue with them.

You can also hear her advocate for asylum seekers to be allowed to work after 3 months instead of 6. This was probably suggested to her by an NGO. She has possibly been persuaded that the sooner they are allowed to work, they'll be able leave Kinnegad to find employment elsewhere and be out their hair. It's the same logic the NGOs used to get people to promote their 'End Direct Provision' campaign — if asylum seekers get their own homes, they'll be out of your hotel. How did that work out...

But even if that was the case and the asylum seekers left Kinnegad to find employment elsewhere, more asylum seekers will just be moved in. It's a one year contract and could be renewed.

In regards to the Somalian, I get the impression he's had some degree of coaching. You can hear him use the word 'integrate' which is NGO speak.

"If we had blue eyes and a white colour, we wouldn't be in this shit hotel."

Charming. Already the racial grievance has started.

Another good one from Scallan.

This asylum seeker used a Schengen visa to get into Spain and then purchased a fake Bulgarian passport for €4,000 to get into Ireland. I imagine that is happening a lot. That they are so cheap and readily available with the ability to fool authorities is very concerning.

Gript have masked where the asylum seeker is from but it is evident he is from a Muslim country and he is claiming asylum on the grounds that he is an atheist. Apostacy is forbidden in Islam and punishable by death. Why do we have relationships with countries where this law is on the books? Why are people who believe in this law allowed to move to Ireland?

The asylum seeker also tells Scallan he did not claim asylum in Spain because it is more difficult to get accommodation and start work there. He makes similar complaints about Germany although it's not clear.

Remember the NGOs are constantly browbeating us that our treatment of asylum seekers is horrendous and nothing less than full citizenship rights from the moment someone mouths the word 'asylum' is acceptable so that we can be considered model EU citizens. This is a lie.

Under the Dublin Agreement we are entitled to send this man back to Spain so why is that not happening?

Ireland has now run out room to accommodate asylum seekers after Minister Darragh O'Brien announced that there would be no cap on the numbers we accept 3 weeks ago.

It is suggested new asylum seekers should stay at the airport if they have no other arrangements.

Laois Offaly TD Carol Nolan has confirmed the government plans to build 500 modular homes in the next two years at a cost of €100 million to house 2,000 Ukrainian refugees on publicly owned urban sites around the country.

In addition, there will be ongoing facilities management, maintenance and utilities costs, and post-installation costs at an estimated €1.25m from 2023 onwards, said Deputy Nolan.

They say they're for Ukrainians but by the time anyone is put them, will they really be for the very tanned variety....🤔

A mother in Ongar has shared footage of a man who was filming children for 45 minutes at a playground. Gardaí say their hands are tied as filming minors is not a crime.

Other mothers have told her a similar man was seen flashing children at local primary schools while a man with a similar description told a 2-year-old on a Ballyfermot bus that he would like to have sex with her.

She blames an increase of incidents like these involving immigrant men on poor vetting by the authorities.

She adds that by delegitimising concern as racism, the media is creating hate and division.
