Interesting development over the past couple of hours.

The government has lost its majority, with McHugh voting against the MICA legislation.

This doesn't necessarily mean that the government will collapse if you get enough TDs/Independents/even those who have lost the party whip to support you. You just need one in this case.

I doubt it will collapse the government, but the more this goes on, the more something is going to snap. Even the less clued in politicians have to know what's coming right now.

Midlands 103 FM discussing Kinnegad this morning.

As I mentioned earlier, there's a narrative containment operation in progress.

At 0:24 & 6:00 we get sob stories from asylum seekers complaining about the facilities.

At 0:52 we are told those involved in the disturbances are being moved on.

At 1:59 The number who are being "moved on" is reduced to one person.

Again, none of the reports about sexual harassment are mentioned — silence from the NWCI.

At 2:30 we learn that the real number of asylum seekers staying at the hotel is 75. Another 75 are coming.

They continue to call them 'Syrians' but they could really be from north Africa or elsewhere — many such cases.

The regime must have warned Midlands to stop reading out comments from the public.

At 3:53 & 5:26 they just broadcast some carefully curated local vox pops — "I don't mind them here, it's just the lack of facilities" etc.

At 7:51 the Green Party's Hazel Smyth is brought on for damage control — "system under pressure" yada yada.

Comparing somewhere like Moore Street pre-Celtic Tiger to today shows how bad Dublin has gotten

It was a vibrant open-air fruit and vegetable market, being Dublin's oldest food market - which was full of native inner city Dublin traders who opened up shop there for generations. The street itself was a hotbed during the 1916 Rising where Patrick Pearse surrendered to British forces in one of its terraces.

Now today, it has an African wig shop, an internet café and no joke - it has over twenty - that's right 20 - phone repair shops crammed in, despite being only 240m in length.

And to add insult to this, they've been trying to demolish the whole area now since 1996. Loads of property developers are currently trying their best to get this area wrecked so they can probably build more hotels/apartments for migrants.

I, and campaigners and traders believe the street market is being run down deliberately in order to give reason to destroy it. There's no way its allowed to be this dreadful if not on purpose.
