Gardaรญ are now stationed outside Harry's Hotel in Kinnegad which is being used to accommodate 150 asylum seekers apparently.

Local representative Denis Leonard says he has contacted Minister Roderic O'Gorman "outlining how outrageous this decision is and how unsuitable the arrangement is for all concerned."

"Also I will mention the amount of incidents since the weekend and the urgent need for extra Garda cover as a result....We must show community outrage at this decision, be very clear about how unsuitable and dangerous the situation is, and demand an immediate policing response until it is rectified."

Lorraine unaware what 'refugees welcome' actually means until it happened to her town.

The previous inhabitants were Croatian workers BTW. Quite a bit different.

'Can we please let the sexual harassment slide, they've only just arrived.'

Just excuse it all as a sexual emergency, I suppose...

They say they're Irish but treat them like actual Irish people and they have a strop.

Difference is, they won't be censored and demonised.

RT @Mullins77David: Minister Oโ€™Gorman has refused to provide @CNolanOffaly TD with the cost of the contracts that his Dept has entered into with 3rd Level colleges/universities in order to house those Ukrainians who have arrived here. He's actually a Labour Party councillor.
Just wants them dumped elsewhere.
Let some other community deal with it, sure. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Small clip of ร‰amonn Ceannt and Cathal Brugha during 1916 Easter Rising, in clip states Brugha sustained 25 wounds, 9 of which were serious before being wounded by a grenade where he then dragged himself away to then sing โ€œGod Save Irelandโ€ while firing shots in between verses.

This inspired Ceannt and those around to take back the barricade and force British soldiers back, which they did.

Clip then ends with them all singing โ€œA Nation Once Againโ€

I have just entered Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, Wales on the 1000km walk from Galway to Brussels. I'm currently making my way towards Menai bridge which I will be crossing in the next few hours before entering mainland Wales. I expect to reach the Snowdonia mountains by tonight. The walk is being completed to highlight the homeless and cost of living crisis in Ireland ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช

How can deportations resume if hardly any were ever deported in the fist place?

>Only a small minority of deportation orders are enforced by the Garda. In 2019, the last year deportations took place, there were more than 2,000 such orders issued, but just 298 were enforced. In 2018, there were 1,117 orders issued and 163 enforced.

"This is in the same week that Helen McEntee, the Justice Minister, announced a strategy against gender-based violence, and at the same time her department sends 150 men of fighting age with incompatible cultural values to a small town. We are not a serious country."

Comments from members of the public regarding the asylum seekers dumped in #Kinnegad over the weekend were read out on Midlands FM this morning.

Kinnegad asylum seekers | Midlands FM
Late Stage Ireland
Labour Cllr Denis Leonard spoke to Midlands FM this morning regarding the asylum seekers in Kinnegad.

Leonard advocated for their placement elsewhere in the country, complaining that the services in the town weren't suitable to accommodate them. He neglected to mention the reports of sexual harassment, and seems to be under the illusion that asylum seekers can be deported if they commit a crime here. He should know that serial sex offender Chico Makamda hasn't been deported yet. Minister Helen McEntee says it's complicated...

Labour advocate an amnesty for all asylum seekers who are in the system over two years. This policy was adopted by McEntee as part of her blanket amnesty for illegals this year. Labour's attitude to asylum seekers brought this problem to Kinnegad. It attracts people who wish to abuse our generosity, and us. But the problem has to arrive on some people's doorstep before they care...

The comments from the public were much better. Skip to 10:33 to hear them.
