The face of a woman who fears for her life in Malawi, a country littered with only the tombstones of her memories.

Wait, I thought Kisyombe said she had no family left in Malawi. Then an uncle materialised out of the jungle fog on her 2020 trip....and now she's seen an apparition of her nana too!
No wonder she always feared going home...
Her family keep coming back from the dead.

Ellie Kisyombe — a real Irish women, and if you disagree, there's no space for you in Eyeland (she's not even a citizen yet).
"This is supposed to be my constituency and I say this is going to be my country, and I'm going to own it.
"...Don't tell me to go back to where I come from because I belong right here. I'm a real Irish woman, and I'm not just going to say 'I'm a real Irish woman,' I'm going to write the history.
"...So let's not entertain all these far-right. Let's not give them a space.
"...It does not matter whether you are in Direct Provision, whether you are coming from wherever you are coming from. We are all one, and we share same blood. At the end of the day, we are all Irish."
Irish Aid spends €20 million a year on Malawi. When President Michael D. Higgins visited the country in 2014, he remarked "We get very, very good value for anything we do here."
Not included was our bill for putting up with Kisyombe.

"I requested them personally to say directly that we are going to accept you into NATO in a year or two or five, just say it directly and clearly, or just say no," Zelensky said. "And the response was very clear, you're not going to be a NATO member, but publicly, the doors will remain open," he said.
