''We honour St. Patrickโs Day because in it we see the spiritual conception of the separate identity of the Irish race. On this Festival then our prayer is: Honour to St. Patrick the Irish Apostle, and Freedom to his people.''

Absolute reddit moment here.
One of the favourite pastimes of the basic shitlib is to smugly rag on Americans showing any hint of Irish pride to deny them their heritage and get a superiority rush even while this guy's version of history is just as skewed if not more.
I don't need to check twitter to know that the top hashtag today will be bashing Americans for saying Patty's Day.
Meanwhile Mubungu who just arrived from the Congo and calls our country Eyeland is 100% just as Irish as the rest of us.

Case in point: This first picture was widely shared online purporting to show Irish men heading off from Dublin airport to fight for Ukraine.
But you can hear in the video they're definitely Ukrainians, compromising our neutrality as some idiot gave them Irish flags to put on their sleeves, not that we need help (guarantee they'll rip them off if they're captured).
When this is explained on r/Ireland the response comes: "sure maybe they're all Irish citizens, just like you and me."
Just like you and me...

The Irish don't get one day off...
"It's a message to the community groups that they are very much part of our nation, and very much part of society, and this is what Ireland is now. It's a multicultural, diverse country, and we have to be really proud of that."
The message is not for them. It's for you. It's hammered into your head every day. This isn't your country any more, Paddy.

The Supreme Court in Brazil has just ordered the ban of Telegram in the country.
The order is directed at app stores, ISPs, and backbone services.
It states Telegram has failed to take down accounts linked to a target of the investigation, a supporter of President Bolsonaro.
The order banning Telegram also puts citizens on notice of a BRL100,000 fine (~1000x the national minimum wage) for circumventing the ban.
Telegram has been uncooperative with Brazilian courts, the order notes, and drawn attention of authorities concerned with "misinformation".
It is estimated 60% of Brazilians have Telegram installed.

Quality from the Irish cringe rock scene which is a genre I feel we consistently punch above our weight in.
The track is titled 'Gender Studies' by M(H)AOL (pronounced male).
It was showcased yesterday during the state's St Patrick's Day music performance series โThe Soundtrack to Irelandโs Futureโ โ "Featuring twenty of the best emerging artists in Ireland right now".

Propagandists in Action. The Russo-Ukrainian war
In this manic early morning stream, I outlined, in real time, how a fairly popular youtube channel is overtly engaged in propagating a deeply warped view of events on the ground in Ukraine, and willingly is engaging in open propaganda production for one ofโฆ

Look at the lies Enda is being allowed to spread in the Irish Times today. They print it as a letter to the editor so they don't have to stand over any of it .
The vast majority of Syrians who arrived in Ireland were flown in from camps in Europe and automatically granted refugee status. They could work or claim welfare or whatever else from the moment they arrived.
They were placed in what were called Emergency Reception Centres โfour star hotels in some casesโ until suitable housing was found for them. Families were put at the top of the queue and were housed in a relatively short time.
There was a problem though. The majority of the 4,000 Syrians were of the single, military-aged male variety. The Red Cross were tasked with finding housing for them.
The Red Cross put out a request for help from the public and there was an immediate outpouring of support.
667 rooms were pledged initially but 623 of these pledges were soon withdrawn. The high these people had received from voicing their support on social media had shortly withered when they realised who they'd be sharing their homes with.
Reality didn't quite match up with images of despairing women and children the media had been showing them.
As for the rest of asylum seekers Ireland attracts during the course of a year, 90% fail their application and I'd suggest the majority of rest are only accepted because they are able to lie more convincingly.
They come to Ireland because they are Irish supremacists. They believe Irish people can provide them a better standard of living than their own people ever can. They will happily tell you this.
They also come here because we're mugs. The word in Nigeria is almost the same โ mugu. We're a country of mugus, a country of Endas. They know they just have to mouth the word 'racism' and thick Paddy will bend over.
The state should be doing everything in its power to deter these people from abusing our asylum system but it does the opposite. It refuses to deport them. It facilitates them bringing their families in, and they never go home...except for holidays.
If they weren't here, we might have the space to accommodate real refugees fleeing war. We might not be jaded from having our generosity abused for the last 20 years. We might have homes for the Ukrainians on arrival.
But nobody forces these people to live in Direct Provision where they are treated better than Irish homeless people. Anyone can take them in. They only stay in Direct Provision because like the rest of the shitlibs, Enda doesn't want them staying in his home.
He just pretends he cares so he can pat himself on the back about his letter in the anti-Irish Times today on social media.
