Huge crowd gathers for George Nkencho's funeral unperturbed and undisturbed which the media deliberately obscured in their footage.

The funeral of George Nkencho took place in Huntstown at 12 noon today. A large crowd was in attendance including former TD Ruth Coppinger.

Nkencho was buried in a white coffin which is usually reserved for children. His mother dressed in white and had to be supported as were some of the other mourners. There were about 15 members of the press in attendance taking footage. No gardaí were in sight at all.

The video above highlights the discrepancy between the tightly cropped footage the media showed their audience versus the actual extent of the crowd. They deliberately obscured its size.

Last week Travellers were castigated in the media with headlines like "lockdown laws flouted" for attending a funeral. Gardaí reported they had handed out 80 fines in Leitrim. Under current covid-19 restrictions, only 10 people are allowed to attend funeral services.

(iv) Overt approval of a totalitarian ideology, xenophobia or anti-Semitism.
(v) Public approval or denial of the Holocaust.
(vi) Public approval or denial of any other act of genocide the existence of which has been determined by an international criminal court or tribunal.

Section 9. Mass Media
(a) The Government shall ensure that public broadcasting (television and radio) stations will devote a prescribed percentage of their programmes to promoting a climate of tolerance, as per Section 8(f).
