Eritrean people smuggler living rent-free in a mews at the Foxrock mansion belonging to the co-founder of the Immigrant Council of Ireland.
The Eritrean man had been Chantal McCabe’s driver while she was in Eritrea on "charitable work". He came to Ireland in 2015 on a visa sponsored by McCabe to help her identify Eritrean families in need of assistance.
Gardaí began the investigation after more than 100 Eritreans arrived in Dublin airport since November with most claiming asylum, but subsequently missing their required scheduled interviews.
A number were discovered to have entered Britain, a cause of alarm to UK immigration officials.
On February 8, the PSNI stopped a vehicle as it crossed the border as part of a “proactive operation”.
Inside were two Eritreans who had recently arrived in Ireland being driven by McCabe's employee & lodger.
Hilariously, the Dept of Justice claims tackling people smuggling is a no.1 priority of the UN, Council of Europe and EU when really they facilitate this.

A local woman told 98fm that gardaí only attended the Blackpitts mosque two hours after over a hundred people congregated there for Friday prayers in breach of covid-19 regulations.
She believes they would have been there in a heart beat had they been told it was a house party. Meanwhile she's not allowed to take her children to the park.
Another local says the Friday prayers are a weekly occurrence and he often can't get out of his estate for the amount of taxis that are illegally parked while their drivers are in the mosque.
One Friday he spotted a clamper van near the mosque so he asked the driver why the taxis weren't being clamped. The man replied his co-worker was on a break so nothing could be done.
Shortly afterwards the local spotted this co-worker exiting the mosque, get into the van and it drove off. He said he's notified the gardaí on several occasions and nothing has been done.
"We've complained about different things about this mosque but the guards just refuse to go near it."

Judge Pauline Codd said Mujahed Omer (57) had deliberately “concocted a ruse” to seek the woman’s assistance in placing fittings under the bath, causing her to lie on the ground, so he could sexually assault her.
Olan Callanan BL, defending, handed in testimonials on behalf of his client which spoke of his previous good character and the high regard he was held in within his community and his family.
He said Omer moved to Ireland from his native Pakistan in 2003 after seeking asylum here. He spent two years in Mosney, Meath before he was placed in direct provision in Louth. He moved to Lucan in 2008 with his family.
