Horror: Somali appears at Swedish family's breakfast table: "I want to fuck".

A Swedish family in Borlänge got the shock of their lives when they were to sit down and have breakfast. A Somali with a visible erection stepped in through the door and declared that he wanted to "fuck". The wife and daughter have since become so afraid of Somalis that they have been forced to move.

The incident occurred in August 2016, but has only now come to light after the 29-year-old Somali from Tjärna Ängar - a district in Borlänge which is popularly called "Little Mogadishu" - was convicted.

The husband woke up shortly after 7 o'clock in the morning when he heard his wife shout "no, no, you can not come in here" from another room.

He got out of bed and went out into the hall. There he saw how his partner tried to push a Somali against the front door. The Somali had one hand inside his trousers.

- What are you doing with fucking Somalis? exclaimed the man.

He grabbed the intruder and threw him out of the stairwell, then called the police.

The mother of the family told during the trial that she was just about to serve breakfast to the children when the front door opened and an African stepped in. Her daughter was then right behind her. "I want to fuck," the Somali explained time and time again.

Afterwards, she herself has become afraid of dark-skinned men, while her daughter is still afraid of men who appear to come from Somalia.

It went so far that the family had to move.

- It became very scary to stay in the area because many Somali men live there, the mother says.

The Somali was arrested on the spot. When he was released from custody in Borlänge a couple of days later, a policewoman saw through the window how he sat outside the police station by a fountain, took off his clothes and moved naked in the square. A police patrol then approached the Somali "to point out the inappropriateness of his behavior", according to the policewoman.

The policewoman considered that the Somali had subjected her to sexual harassment as a result, but he was acquitted on that point on the grounds that it had not been fully proven that he acted with the intention of harassing her.

On the other hand, the 29-year-old is convicted of sexually harassing the mother and daughter in the family whose home he entered. He is also convicted of domestic violence.

However, he escapes prison and instead escapes with probation. The prosecutor had also not demanded that he be deported, so the Somali may remain in Sweden.

It turned out during the investigation that the 29-year-old had been registered under two different names with the Swedish Tax Agency.

What seems to confuse liberals about the Irish Tricolour, + about Republicanism (as a vehicle for Irish Nationalism) + indeed about everything else... is that, in common with all political ideologies, it is inclusive + exclusive.

All doctrines, religions, worldviews exclude, by definition, what they are not. They don't include everything anymore than they exclude everything. They are what they are. They are not anything else.

The idea that the term “inclusive” has some kind of objective moral value in and of itself is absurd. An Irish Ireland in which the Green + the Orange are reconciled with the goal of getting Westminster out is both a project of unity and of separation.

It does not include everyone anymore than an Ireland under the British Crown includes Irish nationalists. Furthermore it remains to be seen how the two peoples can ever be reconciled, sense in practice the uniting of Green and Orange has been a total non-event.

Irish Liberals can gush over the Tricolour as a symbol of multiculturalism and rainbows but in order to do so, they must completely de-historicise it. They must rip it from its rooted context and utterly re-frame it.

If it's an example of multiculturalism, it must be one of the most embittered and bloody examples one could ever imagine. Unionists do not see the Tricolor as a symbol of reconciliation and neither, truth be told, do most Republicans.

Those who try to de-politicise the Tricolour in order to re-politicise it as something it is not, have learnt nothing from the past and have a poor measure of the future. “Inclusiveness” is now just liberal jargon for getting what they want.

An Ireland for everyone is not an Ireland for Irish people.

Polish woman Teresa Buczkowska from the Immigrant Council says she's no less Irish than anyone else living in Ireland because being Irish is about "what role we play in society rather than our genetic background". Her workshops on subverting what it means to be Irish show a clear commitment to being Irish, she claims.

Teresa also says the Arts Council of Ireland (which she is a member) designed a diversity, human rights, equality & inclusion policy and they force artists applying for grants to show they are implementing this policy into the work they create. She believes art should be used to subvert what it means to be Irish.

Teresa believes someone can be both Brazilian, Pakistani or Polish and Irish (conveniently).
