An Irish student on reddit who is doing a Masters course at UCD's Smurfit School says he now regrets paying so much to move to Dublin and do the course due to the number of Indians in his class.

🔹 He says at least 70% of the other students are Indian and their lack of proficiency in English means group work "is a mess" with some Indians not bothering to show up for presentations, so he ends up doing most of the work.

🔹 He suspects the English entrance exam is inadequate to filter out poor English speakers or that the Indians 'did something else' to pass it.

🔹 Many of the tutors are also Indian with thick accents making them difficult to understand and they often answer questions in Hindi.

🔹 He says he has seen Indians take pride in cheating, using ChatGPT for entire assignments and having no interest in the coursework—"somehow many still pass."

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted by a group of at least 6-7 foreign men on Letterkenny’s Main Street last night shortly before 10:40pm.

The father of the victim says his son told him that the men spoke in a different language at times and told him "This is our town. We own it now."

Witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage can contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 974 91 67 100, or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.

Lucky break for D4 residents as Sachs Hotel in Donnybrook is no longer under consideration to accommodate asylum seekers.

A local residents’ leaflet campaign had warned that 200 to 300 asylum seekers could be housed in “the most affluent part of the city.”

However, the Department of Integration has now announced that after assessment, the property has been deemed inappropriate—though it declined to explain why.

Justice Minister Jim O’Callaghan represents the area as a TD for Dublin Bay South.
