Following the flagging, Orbit Chain has been actively communicating with exchanges as well as DAXA, submitting detailed justification documentation.
To the extent possible, we are sharing the investigation's progress, as well as security checks to restore the Orbit Bridge, along with recovery plans to restore the ecosystem, and plans for new business.
Due to the ongoing investigation by the relevant authorities, we are unable to determine exactly what caused the incident. In the course of the investigation, we will provide a detailed explanation for the de-flagging of OrbitChain (ORC) token.

We extend our sincere apologies for the distress caused to our community and the broader industry by the Orbit Bridge exploit on January 1. The Orbit Chain team is fully aware of its responsibilities and is playing an important role in the comprehensive resolution of the incident, which includes the recovery of stolen assets and the normalization of the ecosystem.
Orbit Chain (ORC) was flagged with an investment warning by Bithumb, Coinone Exchange, and DAXA on January 5. There has been constant communication between the Orbit Chain team and the exchanges, including one meeting with each exchange, and seven submissions have been made to the exchanges in order to de-flag ORC.
As the community is aware, the exploit involved the theft of assets from the Orbit Bridge Ethereum vault and did not directly impact ORC tokens, nor did it lead to token liquidation issues.
The incident was not caused by a flaw in the Orbit Bridge smart contract or a compromise of private keys. And our team is working with national authorities and security firms conducting internal analyses to investigate the matter.
In addition to explaining the situation, the Orbit Chain team provided the exchanges with 1) an inspection report including measures to strengthen security since the incident occurred, 2) an analysis report on the integrity of smart contracts by a security firm, 3) a plan to recover stolen assets and normalize the ecosystem, 4) a plan to resolve "user assets" through new business (Silicon) and existing business, and 5) the expected schedule and expected effects of resuming the Orbit Bridge service.
We are, however, extremely disappointed that the ORC token has been delisted today, especially since we are currently preparing to re-establish the Orbit Bridge service on Ethereum Vault, which will naturally restart the ORC token economy once the service resumes in April.
We apologize for not being able to share positive news with our community, including Orbit Bridge users and ORC token holders. As we prepare to resume Orbit Bridge services and develop new Layer 2 ecosystem Silicon, we will continue to communicate with various domestic and international exchanges to explore listing opportunities once again.

Following announcements on March 4, we would like to share the current status of ongoing ‘Orbit Bridge pending asset’ return.
In the past week, the Orbit Chain team received approximately of 130 pending cases.
As for the cases received as of March 11, consensus among validators is expected to take place this week. When the return of asset is completed upon consensus, emails will be sent out each applicant accordingly.
* Layer and bridge fees will all also be returned.
This process will be repeated on a weekly basis until most of the pending assets are returned.
If you have not yet submitted request form, please do so following the guidelines provided below.

Furthermore, since the exploit took place, Orbit Chain Governance function has temporarily come to a halt. As follows, information regarding the status of ORC token that are used for voting governance candidates are limited as of current.

Following announcements on March 4, we would like to share the current status of ongoing ‘Orbit Bridge pending asset’ return.
In the past week, the Orbit Chain team received approximately of 130 pending cases.
As for the cases received as of March 11, consensus among validators is expected to take place this week. When the return of asset is completed upon consensus, emails will be sent out each applicant accordingly.
* Layer and bridge fees will all also be returned.
This process will be repeated on a weekly basis until most of the pending assets are returned.
If you have not yet submitted request form, please do so following the guidelines provided below.
▪️The steps for filing a return are as follows:
- Submit Return Application: You may apply on the Orbit Bridge website (https://bridge.orbitchain.io/return) for the return of pending transactions.
- Assets returned will be sent to the From address where the initial bridging took place.
- The return process takes approximately two weeks from application.

* The procedure described here only supports EVM chains. Contact our official support email (support@orbitchain.io) if you need support for transactions on Ripple and TON networks that cannot be bridged to your wallet.
